The 2024 Corvette introduces the mid-engine sports car’s fifth model year, debuting only a few small changes and updates over the preceding model year. Notably, these include a slight revision to fuel economy ratings for the 2024 Corvette Stingray. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look at the 2024 Corvette Stingray mpg figures.
The 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray returns an estimated 16 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg combined. Compared to the preceding 2023 model year, the 2024 Corvette Stingray returns one extra mpg on the highway in estimated fuel economy.
Critically, the 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray does not introduce any mechanical or aerodynamic changes over the preceding 2023 model year. Additionally, GM claims that the vehicle curb weight is unchanged, despite the addition of several new standard safety features.
Check out the table below for a breakdown of fuel economy ratings for the 2024 Corvette lineup, including the 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray, 2024 Corvette E-Ray, and 2024 Corvette Z06. Fuel economy estimates for the preceding 2023 model year are provided as well, where applicable. Note that 2024 Corvette Stingray fuel economy ratings are calculated with the Z51 performance package equipped:
2024MY City/Highway/Combined MPG | 2023MY City/Highway/Combined MPG | +/- 2024 vs. 2023 | |
---|---|---|---|
Stingray | 16/25/19 | 16/24/19 | 0/+1/0 |
E-Ray | 16/24/19 | - | - |
Z06 | 12/21/15 | 12/21/15 | 0/0/0 |
Z06 with Carbon Aero | 12/19/14 | 12/19/14 | 0/0/0 |
As a reminder, the 2024 Chevy Corvette Stingray is equipped with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, which is rated at a maximum of 490 horsepower at 6,450 rpm and 465 pound-feet of torque at 5,150 rpm in standard guise. The addition of the factory performance exhaust option increases output by 5 horsepower and 5 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed rearwards through the M1L eight-speed automatic transmission co-developed with Tremec. The Y2 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.
Per previous GM Authority coverage, the 2024 Corvette Stingray now equips several new safety technology features as standard. These include Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collusion Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam automatic high-beam headlamps, all of which are included as standard across the 2024 C8 Corvette lineup.

Nobody buys a Vette for the miles per gallon.
Wow so much drag on the Z06 with the aero it loses 3 miles per gallon on a long trip that’s going to add up .
Mathematically speaking, if the hwy mpg went up by 1 mpg, then the AVERAGE also went up. Albeit by a fraction. But that was ignored in the rounding to whole numbers. Which leads to less than accurate statistics. 😀
Off topic: please, lose the popups that block the text every 15 or so seconds. You do this nonsense over at Ford Authority, and it is annoying there as it is here. Thank you.
In case anyone cares, my 2020 hwy numbers are much lower. I always drive 75-80 MPH, and I have regularly seen 30-32 MPG. Roof down & AC on…. My best 50 miles recorded is 37, but I have no idea where and how I got that. Must have been all down hill.
