GM revealed the 2024 Chevy Traverse this past July, debuting an all-new third generation for the full-size crossover. Notably, the 2024 Chevy Traverse trim level lineup does not include a range-topping High Country model, at least not immediately following the debut. That said, the introduction of a third-generation Chevy Traverse High Country trim isn’t quite off the table.
For those readers that need to get up to speed, the 2024 Chevy Traverse trim level lineup is currently limited to include LS, LT, Z71, and RS. Obviously, the lineup leaves the Premier and High Country trims out in the cold. Notably, GM Authority was the first to report in that the Traverse High Country could be dropped with the introduction of the all-new 2024 model year.
Fast forward to this past August, and GM Authority published another exclusive report that Chevrolet may debut a new Premier trim level for the third-generation Chevy Traverse later in the 2024 model year, or possibly during the 2025 model year.
Now, GM Authority is back with yet another exclusive, this time with new information that there will be a new third-generation Chevy Traverse High Country trim level after all. According to GM Authority sources, the Chevy product team has yet to write off the possibility of a new Chevy Traverse High Country. As such, we fully expect the new range-topper to come to market in subsequent model years, perhaps as soon as the 2025 model year.
As it turns out, GM Authority has already rendered what the new third-generation Chevy Traverse High Country may look like. Highlights include the latest third-gen styling, as well as a chrome grille with large horizontally oriented slats and thin bronze accenting, 22-inch wheels, chrome trim along the windows, and more. Check out our rendering article for more information.
As for the all-new 2024 Chevy Traverse, motivation is derived from the the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. Production will take place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan later this year.

With out the Premier / High Country Trims levels, we as dealer are going to loose 40% of our Traverse customer base. it's bad enough we have to sell around the lack of the V6.. Come one Chevrolet, get it together...
I second, "Get it together" ...
What are the cargo specs for the '24 Traverse and Acadia?? After 7 Suburbans, I have to downsize due to the new one's hood height!!?!? So it's up to the largest cargo area (after the Tahoe). Palisade, Grand Highlander (Hybrid), etc.?
Please try to get more interior specs. Very important as seen by the new Acadia now matching the Traverse ( instead of being smaller like '23 ).
Marketing team obviously getting some blowback for their RS / Z71 / LT only gaffe. Seriously though, please pay attention to the competiton.
#1 - You don't need 22" tires on a small SUV
#2 - The engineers that design today's vehicles should have to do repair work on them.
I was looking at a High Country for my 2023 Traverse. For the money you got a sunroof, trailering package and power folding third row seats. I ended up buying a Premier with a trailering package and sunroof for $3,000+ less than a High Country and I’ll probably never use the third row so what difference does it make if it’s power folding or not.
Sorry Phil, but this just isn't true. Current generation AWD Traverse High County is $55,000 msrp. Tahoe starts at $56,000 for a base model 2WD. Apples to apples, the Tahoe is about $20,000 more than Traverse.
