The 2024 Chevy Traverse is set to introduce an all-new third-generation for the crossover, ushering in a long list of updates and changes. Among these will be the deletion of the High Country trim level, as GM Authority was the first to report. Which got us thinking – what would a third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse High Country actually look like?
To find out, we rendered up the following two images. To reiterate, GM has no plans to actually produce a third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse High Country trim – rather, we went about creating these images just for fun.
The first thing to grab you should be the third-gen’s new styling, which includes thin upper lighting signatures bracketing a revised grille and bumper. The new fascia gives the crossover a more truck-like appearance, while our 2024 Chevy Traverse High Country treatment applies a few standout bits and pieces that give the whole package a more premium look. Among these is a chrome grille with large horizontally oriented slats, plus thin bronze accenting. The lower front bumper receives a little chrome trim as well.
In the corners, our 2024 Chevy Traverse High Country rendering is running a set of 22-inch wheels, specifically the split-five-spoke rollers from the Chevy Tahoe High Country and Chevy Suburban High Country. Chrome trim also outlines the top of the windows, providing a single styling line that leads the eye into the rear.
Viewed from behind, our Chevy Traverse High Country rendering shows off revised taillights with a Y-shaped housing that wraps into the rear fenders and hatch. More chrome trim is applied in the middle of the hatch to visually connect the two housings, while also showing off the requisite Bow Tie badge, presented in gold. Complementary chrome trim underlines the bottom of the hatch on the bumper, while a set of quad exhaust tips include square finishers, also in chrome.

Deletion of the top Traverse trims makes total sense. No reason for Chevy to be stepping on GMC/Buick toes. My realtor shopped for a Traverse back in 2019 and saw that the top Traverse was very close to the base Enclave so she went Buick.
Mmm not that bad
But the base enclave isn’t as nicely equipped as a loaded Traverse. Things like cooled seats and adaptive cruise among other things are missing. If it was close to the top line enclave I could understand, but leaving this vehicle with strictly the top trims (Z71/RST) as racer boy black wheeled and trim models means they don’t know their demographic that well. There is a large portion that just want a classy looking luxury CUV from a reliable large manufacturer without jumping to the luxury brands. Look how many Limited Highlanders, Explorers, Pilot and Telluride are around in suburbia. A little chrome and some non black wheels go a long way to classing up the vehicle and making it something a 45 year old adult would want to drive. Personally, the current options would have me shop elsewhere.
I bought a 2023 High Country. My wife and I love the car and actually ordered and bought it from a small dealer that I’ve bought a dozen Chevrolets from after a big dealer (who had the car I wanted) tried to gouge us with $6,000 in worthless add ons. We prefer the Traverse over the Enclave and the smaller GMC.
As an owner of a 2018 HC Travaerse is my opinion that Chevy dropped the ball by eliminating the HC from the 2024 lineup.
The redisigned front looks aggresive as a Chevy should! However, another bad move was making the rear look like a Toyota Sienna. Terrible! I can honestly say that I buy GM cars not for their reliability but because of how they look and if they are going to start looking like a Toyata, I might as well buy a Toyota! I just had my 2022 GMC Terrain leave me stranded on the street due to a fuel pump module issue!
Glad I bought a 23, traverse premier everything I wanted in style and interior space, from photos I don’t like the changes, the traverse is my first non crewcab pu since 99, and I have had 6 straight silverados pus but the style and interior on the traverse tempted me to buy a non pick up.
We love it!
At least they should have offered a premier level not everyone wants a sport look and tge red in the interior is hard dor me to like. It looks little cheesy to me
I just do not understand the lack go High Country
I can understand killing off the highest trim level as it is too close in price to the Denali trims. However they should have kept the LTZ/Premier trim as it offers a more traditional luxury appearance and not everybody is into the murdered out black off road look which they are heavily catering to even though few of these will ever see so much as a dirt road!
I’m not sure why GMA is not talking about the fact it appears they’ve also dropped the Premier trim. At least as far as everything shared thus far by GM and the current info on Chevrolet.com, there is no Premier trim for the new Traverse. Only LS, LT, Z71 and RS are shown. Premier trim, I believe had a higher sales volume than High Country, and yet it appears to be gone as well…
Seems they’ve moved toward Z71 being the mid-highline and RS as the highline, replacing Premier and High Country respectively.
I have been buying chevy cars and ONLY chevy, for 45 years the best 1 was my 2017 chevy traverse. I did want to upgrade to a 2024 traverse, but it doesn’t come with a 6cylinder. I also wanted to go with the HIGH COUNTRY. IT looks like the Far East is going to get my business because they make vehicles with what I like in them.
Wow, Love the look of the 2024 rendered traverse high country. Get it into production ASAP.
That looks horrible compared to the rs trim.
