Chevy Traverse Inventories Running Low In March 2023

Chevy Traverse inventory levels across the U.S. improved once again in the beginning of March 2023, sources familiar with the matter tell GM Authority.

7,200 units of the Chevy Traverse were on the ground at dealerships as of early March, with an additional 7,000 examples of the full-size crossover on their way to dealers across the U.S. This gives the Traverse a 21 days supply, meaning there is sufficient Traverse inventory for 21 days at the current sales pace. For reference, a 60 days supply was considered normal prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Inventory levels of the Traverse have been making slow progress in the past few months. Back in January 2023, the Bow Tie crossover had a 16 days supply with 6,043 units on the ground and 9,616 units in transit. Then, in February 2023, the Traverse had a 17 days supply with roughly 5,000 units on the ground and 8,200 units in transit.

Sales of the Chevy Traverse fell from 116,250 units sold over the course of the 2021 calendar year to 96,965 units sold over the course of the 2022 calendar year, representing a drop of more than 16 percent.

This 2022 calendar year sales performance places the Traverse towards the top of the full-size crossover segment – and above the likes of the Dodge Durango – with nine percent of the segment share.

As for the 2023 Traverse, the Bow Tie brand’s full-size crossover is powered by the naturally aspirated 3.6L V6 LFY gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, mated to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission. The Traverse also rides on the long-wheelbase variant of the GM C1 platform. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan.

In case you missed it, the next-gen Traverse is expected to debut sometime during the 2023 calendar year.
