General Motors has started a service update to address an issue in certain examples of the 2022 model-year Buick Envision compact crossover due to a software issue that may cause the right-hand-side reading lamps to become inoperative.
The problem: in affected vehicles, the passenger-side reading lamps in the front and rear may be inoperable when the user attempts to switch them on manually due to a software glitch that was inadvertently caused by a previous over-the-air-update.
The hazards: this problem does not pose a safety or reliability risk to affected vehicles, however owners will want to ensure this problem is addressed, as the vehicle’s passenger side reading lamps will not work otherwise.
The fix: dealer technicians will be instructed to inspect the overhead console reading lights in affected vehicles and replace them if necessary. These repairs will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner.
Affected components: passenger-side overhead console reading light.
Affected vehicles:
Number of affected vehicles: it’s unclear how many Buick Envision models are affected by this service update.
Owners should: owners of affected Buick Envision models will be contacted by the automaker and instructed to make an appointment with their dealer. Those with further questions or concerns can reach out to Buick using the contact information included below.

Maybe I am too old but no wonder there are so many electrical problems today when even dome lights are controlled by the body control module.
Yes FIX THE SOFTWARE welcome to 2022 not 1952... Cars are more computers now! Besides it's a reading lamp I never ever use these in my car lol. At least there no China jokes yet.
This makes no sense. Lights stop working due to a software issue, yet the fix is to replace the lights? FIX THE SOFTWARE!!!
Jerry the wife and are 40 and 43 years old we own a Buick and in our town there is a Buick/GMC dealership in the same building... Why Lexus is so hip or genesis yuck ugly! I don't see many young people driving Lexus or genesis either I have yet to see a Genesis dealer not that I would buy one.
I’m 46 and just purchased a 22’ Buick Envision ST from a Buick/GMC dealership in my town. I’ve received a lot of compliments on my new Buick from “younger” people. I feel like the newer Buick crossovers are more appealing to the younger generation.
