General Motors has just announced that its Buick brand has been named a strategic partner of the 2021 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) during a press conference prior to the annual event, which was born in China and celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The Tri-Shield brand received this recognition in its thirteenth consecutive year of supporting the BFA, with whom it started a sponsorship agreement in 2008.
Buick officially becomes the only designated VIP automotive industry sponsor of the Boao Forum for Asia, providing a large fleet of vehicles to transport officials and delegations from some 29 eastern countries that will meet this year. The 2021 Boao Forum for Asia will take place from April 18th to the 21st in the tourist city of Boao, located in the Chinese province of Hainan.
“Over the past two decades, the BFA has become a valuable global platform for the exchange of ideas among the government, business and academic communities,” said Executive Director of Buick Sales and Marketing at SAIC-GM, Molly Peck, in a statement. “This year’s conference provides an opportunity for all of us to share our ideas and contribute to a shared future. It is one of the reasons that Buick is proud to once again be doing our part by providing premium transportation for guests from China and around the world,” she added.
The Boao Forum for Asia is an international organization jointly founded in 2001 by 29 member states, with the founding purpose of promoting economic integration in the Asian continent. Its mission now is to pool positive energy for the sustainable economic development of Asia and the world in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era, through greater integration of efforts between different government entities.
This year, the American brand’s 200-unit fleet of VIP vehicles consists of high-end versions of the Buick LaCrosse sedan, the new mid-size Buick Enclave for the Chinese market and the iconic Buick GL8 full-size MPV. These three models represent the pinnacle of Buick’s elegant styling as well as the ultimate in luxury and smart driving technology.
Buick has worked closely with the Boao Forum for Asia to provide high-quality travel services, which has been widely recognized by the organizing committee and guests from around the world. Now that it has been named a strategic partner of the BFA, the brand will continue to actively fulfill its social responsibilities and elevate its premium image both inside and outside of China.
