As seen in the table above, the Chevy Tracker posted 6,595 units sold in October, besting the next best-selling Jeep Renegade, which sold 6,042 units during the same time period. The Hyundai Creta secured third place in the segment with 5,354 units sold, while the Volkswagen T-Cross was fourth with 5,137 units sold.
All told, the Chevy Tracker secured 18 percent of the segment market share in October of 2020.
As GM Authority reported previously, overall Chevrolet Brazil sales decreased 21 percent in October of 2020. However, although half of the brand’s models saw significant sales volume declines in October, five models also saw significant sales bumps year-over-year. These include the Chevy Camaro, the Chevy Equinox, the Chevy S10, the Chevy TrailBlazer, and as we covered above, the Chevy Tracker.
General Motors launched the all-new, next-generation Chevy Tracker crossover in the Brazilian market this past March, offering up a modernized exterior design, innovative technologies, a revamped interior, and two turbocharged engine options. Both a six-speed automatic and a manual transmission are offered. Customers are offered four trim levels, including the base-model Tracker, the Tracker LT, the Tracker LTZ, and the Tracker Premier.
The Chevy Tracker is based on the GEM platform, and starts at R$82,000 (US$15,417 at current exchange rates).
To help boost sales, General Motors recently launched a new advertising campaign for the Chevy Tracker in Brazil.
