Earlier, we told you Velocity Yellow looked to be on its way out for the 2016 C7 Corvette, to be replaced by a new shade. That is indeed the case. Velocity Yellow will be retired and a new shade of yellow is heading to a Corvette configurator near you.
The newest shade of yellow has been deemed “Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat” and looks extremely similar to the Velocity Yellow. The hue is slightly different, and as our friends at Corvette Blogger point out, it wouldn’t surprise us the Corvette C7.R squad is already running this color and we just haven’t noticed.
Color number two on deck will be titled Long Beach Red, and takes on a very deep burgundy tone, but appears to be chock full of metal flake when light strikes the paint sample. It should make for an incredible color to show off in the right lighting conditions.
Inside, Spice Red becomes an additional option alongside Adrenaline Red for those seeking warm tones inside the cabin. It’s slightly cocoa looking, with a warm red hue, and looks like a great combination for some of the exterior colors.
Beyond that, the exterior color board doesn’t show the rest of the incoming colors. Though, Corvette Blogger claims Night Race Blue will get the chop for 2016. So we may expect a new blue hue to become available as well. You can see the uploaded swatches here, and swing back to let us know what you think.
The sweepstakes closes on December 22nd and the drawing will take place on December 28th.
