Here’s A Real-Life Scenario Of Why OnStar Can Be Incredibly Helpful

Debbie Hubert and her husband live in a rural area of Southeast Michigan where (*looking outside*) the winters are brutal. And a good all-weather vehicle for the Mitten State is a Chevrolet Trailblazer, which she drives an hour to and from work. Though during a tough winter storm on the last day of January, Hubert was involved in an automobile accident.

“It had rained all day, then it started snowing and finally it all froze. The roads were a sheet of ice.” Debbie said. Suddenly she lost control of the car and ended up flipped over in a ditch. Before she even realized she was hanging upside down and trapped, an OnStar Adviser came to her assistance.

“The Adviser was terrific. She called my husband so I could tell him what happened and then kept talking to me to help me stay calm,” she says. “When the police and ambulance arrived, they got me out through the back window.” Every window was smashed and the roof of the car was crushed but other than a sore shoulder, Mrs. Hubert was safe.

The Huberts love to take ski trips during the winter months. Some people would be discouraged to travel after being in an accident of that magnitude but not Debbie and her husband. Once the Trailblazer was repaired, they set out for another one of their trips.

“I love my TrailBlazer and I will never be without OnStar, ever. Just knowing they are there when you need them makes the service worth every penny,” she said.
