Today, General Motors took the wraps off the all-new 2014 GMC Sierra, alongside the new 2014 Chevy Silverado. Based on GM’s new K2XX architecture, the all-new line of GMC full-size trucks feature new exterior and interior designs, a new line of engines, new cab and bed configurations, along with new technology.
The 2014 Sierra differs from the 2014 Silverado in its exterior design, which now features more GMC-specific design cues than the previous generation. But what really sets the Sierra apart from the Silverado is its interior, which features premium materials such as soft-touch and available aluminum trim.
GMC says that the interior of the new Sierra is the new standard in interior trucks: “Truck owners want a well-crafted cabin, but also one that still feels like a truck,” said Helen Emsley, Sierra interior design director. “They want a purposeful interior, not one that’s flowing like you’d find in a car or crossover.”
Sierra features include:

Beefy yet understated, looks similar to the `13. And why only the work-truck interior theme ( unlike in the `13)? ( BTW very tastefully crafted).
First impressions (from someone that's yet to examine the Silverado):
1. I'm not 100% in love with the headlights, but I'm relieved there's no fake black plastic ducts under them.
2. The massive grille looks very nice. Hopefully it opens to the radiator and is not just big for the sake of appearances.
3. The foglights and their surround trim look like a major step backwards. It appears something is actually missing from the bumper. That's ugly.
4. The off center shark fin immediately catches my eye (not in a good way).
5. I don't like the chrome caps on the mirrors. They look like something I would pick up on a shelf at Auto Zone.
6. Chrome trim at the bottom of the windows... I don't know, but it was obvious at first glance that this truck shares doors with the Silverado. The chrome doesn't disguise that fact the slightest bit.
7. The chunky hood, and massive grille, seems to overpower the rest of the truck.
8. I like some aspects, but I'm far from blown away by the exterior. I need more pictures, and to see it in person.
9. I'm pleasantly surprised with the inside, thus far. Huge upgrade!
10. The door speakers seem to really intrude on the legs.
11. The glove box handle and lock is prominently displayed (roll eyes).
12. The power ports catch my eye and detract from the overall clean appearance.
13. Not crazy about the touchscreen. How's that going to work with my Wells Lamonts???
14. Overall... see number 8.
wow, nice!!!! Can't wait to pay off my G8 and finally get a truck!!! So Stoked! Truck of the year anyone?
i'd say 9.2... how about the 3500 denali line up? more interested in that. i haul trailers with my dually now (2013) and i want to trade in at the end of next year. looking at this, it makes my new truck feel old! seems like a lot of advancements in just a year...
I'm not sure what the point of GMC is. Just badge engineering ... I thought GM was trying to get away from that?
Is this the new one? Not a big change, front reminds me of a 2006 F350. I mean, it's an improvement, I like the fenders and stuff. It looks like a minor-model-change not a major-model-change though. I like the new rear spoiler, but I like the old tailgate style better. Don't like the 18 piece front bumper- it looks like it's ready to rattle. I guess the aerodynamic look started by the 1980 F150 is dead with these guys, they went with the Super Duty squared off grill look.
"Ain't she a beaut?"
No.
When can I build a 2014 truck to purchase
Mike - you can do some preliminary configuring already. Have a look here:

The new trucks are planned to launch this summer, so you should be able to purchase one then. Full configurators should go live sometime before...
Hopefully GM offers new colors gor the 14's. A crimson red metallic is needed( just like Toyota, Dodge and Ford). Dodge crimson color is sweet. The current ruby burgandy color is not a good truck color . New model,New colors i would hope
Brian -- here are the colors for the 2014 Sierra:

There are two reds: Fire Red and Sonoma Red. I think the color you're referring to (with Toyota and Dodge) is the Sonoma Red... right?
I don't see a grab handle on the passenger side. That is a requirement for us old folks. Like the LED lights for running lights, but no LED tail lights, bummer. Will prolly trade my 2012 Sierra for one, if I can figure a way to get the old woman in without a grab handle.
On an unrelated subject, will the 14/15 Yukon have a fold flat third row seat, a deal buster for me if they don't.
@Lamar good question. The K2-based SUVs better have the fold-flats. GM is about 10 years late to the game here :(
