While Ford owns America’s best-selling line of trucks in the F-Series, it can’t hold a candle to what General Motors does in the SUV market. When added up, sales of the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe along with the GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, and the Cadillac Escalade line, The General holds a 70-percent stake in the full-sized SUV segment, according to GM North America President Mark Reuss in a Detroit Free Press report. That being the case, the next line of large sport utility vehicles need to have the fortitude to continue that trend, which looks to be happening by the 2014 calender year.
Originally, estimates put the launch of the new full-sized SUV line somewhere in the second half of 2013, beginning with the all-new Chevy Suburban/Tahoe and GMC Yukon/Yukon XL models, with the Escalade following a few months after. This also means that GM may not officially reveal them for quite some time.
Perhaps the 2014 launch will fall in line with a powertrain improvement cadence for all of GM’s K2XX models. The implementation of eight-speed transmissions, perhaps? Our crystal ball says yes.

i loved the 2009 escalade and i wasn't sure they were ever gonna make a better escalade but when i looked at the front of the 2014 silverado/tahoe i nearly threw up. Theres too much chrome and it looks almost fake. So i agree with one of the previous comments SAVE THE CHROME FOR THE ESCALADE!! i also liked the 2009 yukon denali the motor sounded so loud and monsterous like a pontiac gto (thats the 6.0L)
ford is not whippin chevys butt, and owning 3 z71s doesnt give you "authority" chevy makes the best damn trucks on the market..........if you wanna man up......own a chevy and be pround of it......chevy runs deep.....balls deep
GMC should produce better than this shape, It is almost same as before. No improvments I was expecting smooth finshing and smaller shape for new generations family cars.
We are waiting for the redesign since 2012 and it shamefull to produce such design which looks like pickup car, GMC designers can not create a better than this bad shape for the next generations or just to save money. I think GMC will lose its value with this ordinary design and Koreans, Chinees, japanees and Uropeans cars are challenging US.
Now there is a big competition between the car manufacterers around the whole world and the acians are coming to take there share in this market and the will destroy the Americans soon.
When will the new 2014 suburban ltz coming out? And will it be any difference in the 2013 and 2014.
