Corvette Racing Goes Second, Tenth At ALMS Grand Prix Of Mosport

After qualifying 1-2 for the American Le Mans Series Grand Prix of Mosport, Corvette Racing’s second and tenth place finishes were less than ideal. Originally finishing third, the No. 3 Corvette C6R piloted by Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen got boosted into second after the No. 45 Porsche of Joerg Bergmeister and Patrick Long — which finished first originally — was penalized for “a technical infraction following a post race inspection”. The finish also marked the forth podium finish in five ALMS races for the Corvette drivers, who led for the first 47 minutes of the race of the two-hour, 45 minute race.

The finish vaulted them into the lead in the GT driver standings ahead of teammates Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner (unofficially), who finished 10th after the pit crew had to replace a malfunctioning transmission in the No. 4 Compuware Corvette C6.R. Corvette Racing is also leading in manufacturer’s points.

Corvette Racing’s next event is the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Challenge at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, on Saturday, August 4.
