Lauckner will also oversee all R&D activity while absorbing the duties left by Vice President Alan Taub, who has left the company to “pursue outside interests”. As a result, he will report to GM Vice Chairman Stephen Girsky, and will be instrumental in GM’s Global Product Development staff headed by Mary Barra.
