Somebody might take this obvious Cadillac SRX as an unfortunate model that had its emblem stolen, but more keen-eyes have captured this suspicious looking crossover, and noticed that it had an extra fuel door crudely welded onto the right rear quarter panel. From there we’re guessing that’s when the barrage of picture taking started. For what lies behind the extra fuel door isn’t a gas tank, but a charging port for the rumored plug-in hybrid system that the SRX will offer for the 2013 model year. It’s also the third future Caddy caught testing so far this year.
Unfortunately, the big mystery is nearly impossible for spy photographers to capture. See, as the title states, the 2013 SRX will offer a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. And the real surprise here is what kind of electric range we will see from the vehicle, among other things that get enthusiasts like us all giddy inside.
Spy photos on Car and Driver reveal several interior updates for the 2013 SRX, including a touch-sensitive center stack seemingly identical to what we can expect in the upcoming XTS, as well as a much needed new steering wheel. To see the interior photos as well as the rest of the gallery for the 2013 SRX Plug-In Hybrid, head over to Car and Driver through the link below.
It looks promising. But where the hell were these interior updates for the 2012 CTS?

The blacked out grill and emblem looks cool.
Yeah, they should offer a black-out option :)
