Connor Zilisch will drive the No. 88 NASCAR Chevy Camaro SS in the Xfinity Series beginning in 2025. The No. 88 Camaro is fielded by JR Motorsports (JRM), the Xfinity team owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Zilisch, 18 years old, is currently competing as a Trackhouse Racing developmental driver and is the defending victor of the 24 Hours of Daytona. He’s been racing since he was five years old and boasts multiple U.S. national karting championships and holds six track records at six different racetracks, all earned in his maiden season in the Sports Car Club of America in 2021. He debuted in the ARCA Menards Series at Watkins Glen on August 13th, 2023, where he qualified second and dominated most of the race before victory slipped through his fingers after contact from Jesse Love on the final lap.
“Connor is such an impressive driver at this young age,” Earnhardt said in a team release. “We’re excited for him to get behind the wheel full time next season. He is on a path to sure success with support from Chevrolet, Silver Hare Racing, Trackhouse, and now JR Motorsports.”
Zilisch will race for JRM a few times this season before transitioning to a fulltime schedule in 2025. He’ll drive a NASCAR Chevy race car during the Xfinity Series event at Watkins Glen on September 14th, Kansas Speedway on September 28th, Homestead-Miami Speedway on October 26th, and Phoenix Raceway on November 9th.
“With so much support from Chevrolet and chances to race in Trucks, ARCA and Trans Am with the support of Silver Hare Racing, I was able to sign with Trackhouse and they went to work to secure an incredible opportunity for me,” said Zilisch. “I am so grateful and can’t wait to show them that their trust in me is warranted. It is mind-blowing to think that I will be driving for JR Motorsports and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., who is one of my heroes. I’m ready to put in the work.”
