The GMC Yukon Denali stands out from the rest of the lineup thanks to generous helping of chrome spread out across the body. However, this particular example deletes the shiny bits in favor of something a bit more subtle and whole lot more custom, as seen in the following brief video.
Clocking in at a little over 1 minute, 15 seconds, the video comes to us from Dave Sinclair Customs, an automotive customization service associated with Dave Sinclair Buick–GMC in St. Louis, Missouri. The video documents the custom bits applied made to one customer’s 2022 GMC Yukon Denali, which is now sitting pretty thanks to a host of exterior upgrades.
The big ticket item here is a “full chrome delete,” with the shiny Yukon Denali grille painted Gun Metal Gray, utterly changing the SUV’s fascia. Gun Metal Gray paint was also applied to the front and rear GMC emblems, as well as the model and trim badging.
The running gear was also altered, with the original 2022 GMC Yukon Denali wheels powder-coated in black to match the body panels. The wheels are shod in 33-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires, with the factory suspension swallowing the meaty rubber without any rubbing issues.
Custom details include wheel center caps with the GMC logo in Gun Metal Gray, while the running board and window trim were wrapped in black. The brake calipers were also shot in red to add a splash of color to the mix. Finally, the front windows were tinted to match the rear windows, while the turn indicators on the sideview mirrors were tinted as well.
“We wanted to kill the chrome but wanted something to make it pop so the whole vehicle wasn’t totally black,” the owner states.
“The look of that grill really excited us,” he adds. “And it turned out great.”

As a reminder, the 2022 GMC Yukon Denali offers two engine options, including the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine and 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine. Under the skin is the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

Very ugly! Looks cheap and dirty without any bright and shiny parts.
Customized nowadays is black wheels, blacked out, and maybe the rear dropped a bit. When mass customization comes into play then everyone is thinking alike. This means no one is thinking of individualization or uniqueness. Then it's time for the custom shops to get it done right.

Looks great. Expensive custom liquid black design can only be appreciated by very few with eclectic taste. Very nice finished look. Chrome is always great but every Denali has it.
