2022 GMC Sierra HD Pro To Start At $37,895 In The U.S.

The 2022 GMC Sierra HD Pro will start at $37,895 in the United States including destination and freight charges, according to CarsDirect.

As we reported previously, the base level GMC Sierra HD trim was renamed ‘Pro’ for the 2022 model year. The entry-level trim for the 2021 model-year GMC Sierra HD, by comparison, was referred to as the ‘base’ trim or simply as ‘Sierra’ and did not carry an official name.

The 2021 GMC Sierra HD base was also priced at $37,895 including destination, so despite the name change, the price of the truck will remain as-is. That price applies to the Sierra 2500HD Regular Cab Long Bed model with two-wheel drive, the 6.6L L8T V8 gasoline engine and the GM six-speed automatic transmission.

Standard equipment on the 2021 GMC Sierra HD base includes a seven-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, LED headlamps and taillights, an automatic locking rear differential, hill start assist and a rear vision camera, among more.

When equipped with the 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, the current GMC Sierra HD is rated at 401 horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 464 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. When equipped with the optional 6.6L L5P V8 turbodiesel Duramax engine, output is rated at 445 horsepower at 2,800 rpm and 910 pound-feet of torque at 1,600 rpm.

General Motors’ line of heavy-duty pickups, which also includes the Chevy Silverado 2500HD and Silverado 3500HD, are produced at the GM Flint Assembly plant in Michigan. The automaker will eventually begin building the trucks at the GM Oshawa Assembly plant in Southern Ontario as well, but for the time being, Flint is the only facility where these trucks are produced.

The 2022 GMC Sierra HD lineup will begin arriving at General Motors dealers in the near future.
