Massachusetts Seeking To Ban Gas Powered Vehicles By 2035

Massachusetts released its 2050 Decarbonization Road Map this week, which indicates the state will look to ban the sale of all new gas powered vehicles by 2035.

California was the first U.S. state to announce its intention to ban the sale of internal combustion engine vehicles after governor Gavin Newsom outlined the wide-ranging change during a speech in September. Massachusetts plans to follow California’s lead with the drastic measure and believes it will help facilitate a full transition to EVs by as early as mid-decade.

“The State of California is exploring regulatory options similar to those already in place in many European countries that will require 100% zero emissions LDV sales by 2035. When finalized, those California requirements would also apply to vehicles in Massachusetts,” the state’s Decarbonization Road Map document reads. “Given an average lifetime of less than 15 years, implementation of this regulation or a similar federal one in Massachusetts would likely result in a near-complete transition of the light-duty fleet to ZEVs by 2050.”

This lofty goal is still subject to change, it is worth noting. The document also acknowledges that consumer adoption of EVs will hinge on how the technology progresses in the coming years and says policies can and should be adjusted based on EV development. It also recognizes the major price differences that currently exist between gas powered vehicles and EVs.

“Depending on how EV technologies, California and national policies, and local policy priorities evolve, a policy framework to address this transformation should maintain flexibility and serve as a mechanism to ensure the benefits and costs of vehicle electrification are as equitably distributed as possible,” the roadmap says.

New Jersey has put forth a similar goal of eliminating the sale of new gas powered vehicles by 2035, but has not gone so far as to implement a mandate. The Canadian province of Quebec also outlined its intention to ban the sale of gas powered vehicles by 2035 after Newsom’s announcement in September.

Automakers with major investments in electric vehicles will likely welcome these new mandates with open arms. That includes General Motors, which recently committed to spending $20 billion on electric and autonomous vehicle development between now and 2025.

    • Run by Massholes. Just another reason to move across the state line to where the moto is Live Free or Die.

      • The 'shire won't ever force you to buy inferior products. Also, the vast majority of the electricity used in Massachusetts is produced by natural gas, with only a quarter of the states power being from renewable resources. Maybe they should be more focused on that rather than trying to control every aspect of their constituents lives.

        • Boston, er Massachusetts, has been working on their so called renewable energy contribution plan for years. The Clean Energy Connect Corridor plans to bring Quebec Hydropower thru a new transmission line in remote Maine south to add to the grid. NH residents rejected the original plan for the transmission line to run thru the northeast kingdom years ago because neither the power or the transmission line were very clean. Canada decimated a large area of northern Quebec when they created dams to support this, destroying native habitat land, the way of life and health of many native Canadians, and created a significant environmental issue due to methane emissions on the flooded land. This plan doesn't limit global warming contribution, it just moves the sources further north and makes the Massholes feel good about themselves.

    • 2035! And I two more years we will have a mass market EV truck! And in 5 we will have EV semis. I predict it will be pushed back, because they are refusing to update their electric grid. With big eastern cities already struggling to meet air conditioning loads during the summer. How will they add thousands of vehicles to the grid all the while planning on shutting down nuclear plants. The math doesn't add up, unless they want to loose half their population. The math works out then 🤣

      • California has 10% plug-in cars....and an obsolete grid....and they seem to be doing fine. Of course there are the occasional sparks that start the fires, but they'll figure it out eventually....c'mon man...you worry too much......fires that cause $billions in damage and kill hundreds of people are no reason to stop progress.
So what if China has a monopoly on materials needed to make electric motors...so what if China has taken over the world's richest Lithium deposits....they won't eat our lunch....c'mon man!!!

So what if electric motors spinning at 10,000 rpm will elevate your cancer risk by 10,000%....c'mon man... carbon dioxide is killing plants man!

        • Ace Spades
          Sparks = Fires
Good One, here’s another crazy theory.
Oil Refineries put a lot of dust in the air. Rain drops form on dust particles. Oil Refineries cause hurricanes.

          • So what you're saying is that we had no hurricanes before oil refineries? Hmmm.

Also, isn't more dust in the atmosphere supposed to block some of the sun's energy, resulting in a surface cooling effect?

OK...lets just use natural gas then.....it comes out 99% pure so no need to refine other than extracting a little water vapor. Blue Origin is already 100% committed to the use of natural gas in their rockets on account of the higher energy density. SpaceballsX only know how to use ancient kerosene...because they're so smart.

Also, thanks for letting us know that sparks from overloaded high voltage electrical installations going bad do not cause fires....perhaps it was the hot air from oil refineries in Texas and Louisiana that caused all those California fires.

P.S. It was actually atmospheric dust that quenched most of the hurricanes earlier this year....Firefox it.

          • Ace Spades

            Overloaded Utilities cause brown outs.
Sparks come from a GM factory in Korea.
Fires? See Donald Trump he fires everybody.

          • So you're saying that overloaded and functionally obsolete power utilities do not cause fires.....hmmmm....you should serve as an expert witness then in all the cases against PG&E....you could save that utility $billions and $billions in lawsuits and claims.

Here are just two quotes from a plethora of easily searchable sources:

"Pacific Gas & Electric Co. power lines have caused more than 1,500 California wildfires in the past six years, including the deadliest blaze in the state's history"

"power line components (e.g., switches, insulators, transformers, …) provide trouble-free service for decades. A typical circuit may have hundreds or even thousands of components, making it impractical to inspect or test all components on a frequent basis. Components eventually fail. As they do, they often go through an pre-failure period, during which they continue to serve load until progressive deterioration causes complete failure. Pre-failures often involve arcing and sparking at levels too small to be detected by conventional technologies. Over time the arcing and sparking may increase in intensity and, under the right conditions, can ignite proximate combustibles."

What else are you going to tell us....that oil refineries caused all those deadly TESLA fires because of the dust?

          • Ace Spades
Shifting faults, earthquakes, Santa Anna winds, mudslides, Ice storms, trees falling, car accidents and a number of other things would cause power lnes to fail.
This is why we on the left are quick to put Fail safe regulations into place.

          • California is hitting rolling brown outs. They are offering discounts to people to shut off the AC in hot weather.

Fires are started because people have built on hills of dry brush and uncleared timber.

These forest have burned for centuries just before no one built million dollar housed or placed trailers among them.

California is a dry climate and has been for a long time. It is built on unstable ground and things are going to happen.

As Lemmy said Who wants to live for ever!

To fix this they will need several new power plants as the wind and solar is falling short. Then they need to clean up the forest and better manage them. Just letting wild growth continue and letting people inhabit these areas will just spark more fires. Most are arson or incompetence.

          • Ice storms cause power line fires in California? You're joking.

None of the 20 deadliest and none of the 20 largest California wildfires started in the winter....plus the winters are quite mild in California.

The biggest and deadliest fires were caused by power transmission infrastructure that could not handle the load....this includes sparks from overloaded and obsolete power lines:

"(TNS) - The day before firefighter radio transmissions revealed a malfunctioning PG&E power line may have triggered the state’s most destructive wildfire, a business owner in this tiny town near the Camp Fire’s origin said she received an email from the utility alerting her that workers had to fix a sparking problem on a nearby power line.

In the email received Wednesday, the company said they’d be coming out to work on one of their nearby towers that “were having problems with sparks,” said Betsy Ann Cowley"

As much as you want to deny this, the laws of physics still apply in California. When electrical equipment cannot handle the current, bad things happen....sparks...fire....even explosions.....or perhaps the Lithium Ion batteries are immune to spontaneous combustion (from material defects) in California? I don't think so.

      • I’m guessing that they’ll probably have a larger federal tax credits for people to have solar panels to solve that issue but it is pretty sad that we can’t pull basic necessities together anymore. Every day we’re acting more and more like a third world country. I mean in Los Angeles they’re literally denying people in the hospital who are too sick to survive because they reached well beyond capacity and countries that are a lot smaller are giving their citizens a lot more then what we’re getting for our stimulus and they get it every month to pay rent. My crappy apartment in San Francisco is literally over $800 a month. That lousy $600 isn’t going to pay for that. It’s getting really bad at this point. It might be worse or already is then the financial crisis if people don’t react soon. Politicians should be focused on those things not the Space Force or emission regulations. Both Democrats and Republicans need to pull their crap together and focus on the citizens who will be re-electing them in 2-4 years and can easily get rid of them.

  • From a Massachusetts resident, here's my 2 cents. I live in a true one party state, and when these liberal bills are proposed there is little debate. This bill has passed and it just needs the Governor's signature. Our Governor is a token Republican, and a couple of weeks ago tried a rare veto and was promptly overridden. A lot of city residents here only have street parking and have lower incomes. I bet they will be thrilled plugging in their car next to the sidewalk with some kind of an extension cord. As for me I hope to travel next door to NH for my gas engine purchase. Oh wait, time to pass a law so a new car can't cross the state line to it's Massachusetts owner.

      • Many people from Mass. moved to NH and now continue to vote the same way they did. NH is turning into Mass. Unfortunately.

  • I don't like banning gas cars.
With the price of Zero Emissions gas coming way down (and by 2035 it might be price competitive) I think that a better way to improve the environment would be to impose a carbon tax (on all carbon taken out of the ground) that slowly gets larger until it equals the cost of removing the carbon from the air. Then gas will cost more than it does now (because of how expensive carbon capture is) but it will let us decide whether to buy a gas car (and pay for more expensive gas) or buy an EV. In this plan you the consumer would decide what is best (most economical, most fun, ect.) car to buy for your self and not let the government control you as much. And it would save the environment because all the carbon will be removed from the air.

    • We already have a carbon tax....it's called a gas tax....and it can be as high as 35% in some areas.

Meanwhile, automobile manufacturers have to buy bogus ZEV credits from TESLA if they don't build enough BEVs due to liberals regulations. TESLA makes as much as $25,000 per TESLA sold in these credits. THe cost is of course passed on to folks who buy cars from the ICE automobile manufacturers.

However, I am not entirely opposed to giving the BEV owners all the freebies....considering they are actively participating in a human medical experiment and also an experiment in automotive safety....they should have some compensation/reward....just ask Barrett Riley's dad.

  • Here is the problem. EV while growing will not fill the needs of every driver any time soon.

It will increase in sales and continue to improve but there will be people that have life styles or where they live will limit them from driving EV.

The best thing to do is let the automakers like GM make EV and ICE and let the public choose.

To force the issue is unfair and only going to make many rebel.

Just another case of over regulation.

No carbon taxes, no banning of ICE. Just build a better EV that would make people choose it if their own free will not by force.

If they do this with cars where will this stop?

  • For those who own houses, transitioning to EVs will be no problem. Just install a charge system in your garage and charge your car every night. But what about those who live in apartments, buildings or other rental places where these no charge port at home? So instead of simply filling up gas at the gas station for a few minutes, now if they ban gas cars people will have to wait at charge stations for at least an hour a week at least once or twice to charge their cars. Also charging just takes way too long. About 8-9 hours for a full charge at home and 1-2 hours at a fast charge.

    • Where do most people in Europe and China live? Mostly in apartments correct?
So it can be done and will be done. Our Infrastructure (especially for EV's) unfortunately is way behind. It will be built out though. I would say in like 10 years most parking lots will have Charging Stations. Gas Stations here like they already are in Europe and China will be converting and or adding EV Charging stations.
The World Market has already spoken and EV's are the Future. I have been trying to tell everyone here. It makes no sense for Auto makers to have completely different R&D for EV's and ICE.
I still believe ICE will be around for a long time but will be very niche and in my humble opinion the Consumer will pay huge for such vehicles.
California and New York have set the tone as they always do in the Auto Sector especially California so Most States will follow.
Obviously at the State level most Oil and Coal producing States will be last but the Auto Market will not care or wait for them to finally join. They will make cars for most of America which will be EV's.
And remember for everyone who is upset at the switch to EV's...you can buy a BRAND SPANKING NEW ICE vehicle the year before the ban starts.
I personally want to have a slightly used ZO6 Convertible to go along with my EV in 5 years or so. Well God willing at least.

      • I don't know why youre bringing up where people live in China... Only 35 households out of 100 own a vehicle in China. Literally has nothing to do with the current EV argument. There are like 180 cars per 100 U.S. household. Obviously they don't have the infrastructure to charge a ton of EVs in China, even if they actually had them, which they don't. Oh and God has nothing to do with you getting a Corvette.

        • Most people take the high speed rail system or just walk, ride bike, etc. I guess owning a car there is one of the ultimate status symbols in China.

          • Number one Auto Market in terms of sales in China so a lot of people have some serious Status over there HAHA

        • It is also important to note that China obtains 80% of its electricity from coal. A Ram Mega Cab with a 1000 LB-FT of torque Cummins is better for the environment than a Leaf powered by a coal power plant.

          • Yea exactly. If electric cars are running on electricity from fossil fuel powered generators, not only are you still burning fossil fuels, but you’re also creating waste with all the batteries. Whereas with ICE cars you’re burning fuel but at least you’re not making as much pollution as it takes to MAKE an EV. I don’t think humans are ready for an all EV world. We need democracy. People who don’t care about cars and buy Corollas and such can buy EVs. But let those who prefer ICE to keep their gas cars.

        • @h4cksaw
Simply replying that it is an easy transition no matter if you own a house or live in an apartment. Only thing holding EV's back in the USA is lack of Legislation for them (as we all know both parties are paid for by Lobbyists) and lack of infrastructure as a result. Most people in China and Europe live in Apartments and sales of EV's are skyrocketing so yes my comment is very relevant to the conversation.
Everyone made fun of me years ago when I stated that not only will Tesla not go away but they will force Legacy Auto Makers into EV's whether they want to or not. Not doing so will make them go out of business. Disruption technology comes at you fast. Some can transition while others refuse too or cannot and go away.

      • "The World Market has already spoken and EV’s are the Future?"
So why the ridiculous regulations? Why do ICE manufacturers have to pay HUUUGE penalties for making ICE cars? If EV’s are so wonderful, why do you need to ban the competition? What kind of a Market bans all competition? Oh…wait….you’re a sociaIist….never mind.

In a fair market, TESLA would pay for all the fires caused in California due to an obsolete electrical grid that has been overloaded by all the power-hungry TESLAs.

    • We are not China or Europe. Many who own cars in Europe have parking. Those who live in apartments use the extensive mass transit.

EV is part of the future not the entire future.

The key for electric in America is when we get a battery that can 80% charge in the time it takes to fill a tank of gas.

I expect this goal to be met so that will put chargers in gas stations and life will not change for most drivers.

The ultimate goal is to have EV models that do not alter the life style we have now. As it is now charging is responsible for a change in how we travel. More down time on trips and planning needed to find chargers and then waiting on them.

As it is now most get in a car and drive. We are not sight seeing we are wanting to get there. In as often I have traveled from Ohio to NC I really don’t want to sit along 77 watching time pass by.

The SAE is predicting by 2035 the mix of models sold to be 13/ 1/3 1/3 EV, ICE and Hybrid. They also interviewed a number of engineers and they all are working on ICE models as far out as 2050.

Google SAE magazine 8, 2019 as it covers the future of ICE and how it is not going to vanish

      • I am sure flip phone makers back in the day thought that Smartphones were PART of the Future and not the entire Future.
I am also sure that Blockbuster too most likely thought that Streaming was Part of the Future and not the entire Future.
Look up any Disruptive Tech and you will see that it starts off very slowly and then hit what is called the S-Curve and the entire Segment moves over to that Tech.

        • Electric motors predate refined gasoline. We had electric cars at about the same time we had the first gas cars.

Major automakers were nervous about making electric cars because of the health effects. Now they can blame governments for forcing them to make electric cars....except of course TESLA that has been in bed with government from the very beginning.

  • Let us choose! EV's didn't work 100 years ago so why would they work now?? Not practical for most. Yeah, save on maintenance so they can charge more on the purchase price. Oh, and rebates IF you qualify. Resale value tanks after 3-5 year range. How about repurposed batteries? Where do the old ones go? How are the new ones manufactured? How long do they last. How much do they cost for a replacement? Do you get a tax break on that? How does a pedestrian hear it? Etc. Hmmm.
This message will self combust if there are ever more EV's on the road than combustible ones.

    • A new Bolt battery pack cost north of $10k from articles I've read... Not cheap for something that will almost certainly need to be replaced during the life of the vehicle, with present technology.

      • Exactly. Look at our smart phones right now. After about 2-3 years of use, the phone’s battery will be at 80% max capacity... now imagine that being cars. Most people change phones every 2-4 years, but most people drive their cars for about 10 years. BEV car batteries are going to be a nightmare for anyone who doesn’t own their own house and charge ports.

    • Why are we comparing cars from 100 years ago to the cars today?😂 Tesla’s still sell for a lot even for a 2013 model S. And actually a pedestrian can hear it because they have a little speaker that emits a noise so people can here it because if they don’t it will really screw with a blind person. Also, electric cars require less maintenance since they have less parts and because of that also they’re more reliable. The tax credit could definitely pay for a new battery since for the Mach-E it’s $7,500 for tax credit. I don’t think we’re ready yet for full EVs yet but we all know it’s going to happen sometime. And before you start spreading false info or your biased opinion please do your research and if anything just don’t say anything.

  • I walk to work in Boston, the exhaust of cars and trucks is of course extremely unhealthy. That's why cities have much higher rates of asthma and respitory issues than the burbs. As a city resident, I love the idea of clean cars. So do my kids lungs.

    • Crack, meth, smoking and Vape contribute to a larger degree.

As things go today most cars are very clean today and not like they used to be.

    • Over 90% of the world's fossil fuel is in natural gas. In the burbs, folks use natural gas in their homes a lot more than they do in the cities. Perhaps if you get rid of that electric oven and get a natural gas stove, you will feel better.

Also, the vast majority of vehicular pollution in the cities is from trucks and other large vehicles. These are already being converted to CNG and LNG.

Finally, perhaps you should work in the part of Boston that is benefiting from the Big Dig...where most of the traffic is not in your walking space.

    • For anyone going against this guy I guarantee that you don’t live in a city or you must’ve had a lot of cigarettes and maybe a hit of coke to mess with the brain and lungs not to know the difference between urban air and rural air.

    • Jake
Good news, the major cause of air pollution in cities is rubber from car tires. EVs will still have rubber tires. So you won’t have to lose your asthma as we switch to EVs.

        • Ace Spades

Keeping your head firmly planted up your @$$ should mitigate the effects of air pollution.
I’m done with you. Have a nice day. 😊

          • You've got a lot of hate in you.....typical of a Biden supporter.

Also, you're the one concerned about air pollution in the USA, not me. My advice is....go visit some other countries....where people burn garbage and anything else they can get their hands on for heat....unfortunately this happens in the majority of the world...and you can almost cut the smoke with a knife....the pollution is so bad.

          • I wouldn’t be bragging about supporting Trump because you guys are being labeled as Nazis, extremist, and domestic terrorist. If my grandpa who bravely fought for our country saw what happened yesterday he would be speechless. You literally call yourselves patriotic while holding the confederate flag and a Trump flag over the upside down American flag. The audacity. Go to Hell.

          • Oh look, another China supporter. And look at all the IiberaI sociaIists giving you thumbs up. Shame on you, you sociaIist China-loving traitor.

Your grandpa is turning over in his grave because of your love for China and hatred for democracy and for supporting Biden who is on China's payroll. This election proved to the world that democracy does not work....the IiberaIs will always cheat.

Also, you make hasty generalizations. Please provide proof from my comments where I brag about supporting President Trump.....or otherwise shut your China-loving anti-American sociaIist mouth.

I don't like Biden because he is in bed with China and because he wants all American Children to be placed at a much higher cancer risk due to his support for Obama's dream of all Americans driving their children in BEVs. My 1st pick for 2020 has always been a 100% supporter of ICEs including in many movies.....and he could bring the country together....Biden will only divide the US and give China the upper hand....not that he will last that long on account of the dementia that the entire world knows about.

All you BEV fans should love President Trump....he made Eloon the 2nd richest man and TESLA the most valuable auto maker.

          • Dude you sound stupid as hell. Why do you hate China being an American? China and USA were allies in WW2, because their common enemy was Japan. USA soldiers were HEROES to Chinese people, when they dropped those 2 atom bombs in Japan and stopped them from causing genocide on China. Dude your racism makes you less than dirt.

          • Ever hear of something called the Korean War? Ever hear of Vietnam?
Ever hear of COVID-19? Do you actually believe the sociaIists that the Wuhan virus came from nature? Do you think it’s a coincidence that China will wind up making $Trillions on this “natural” pandemic? Why do you think China’s vaccination rates were up big time in Nov and Dec of 2019? It seems that China had a new improved Tuberculosis vaccine and achieved nearly a 100% vaccination rate…and then the pandemic hit….how convenient.

Go ahead and sit down with your Chinese buddies and have some Chow Chow. You know, they boil puppies alive…makes the skin easier to peel while preserving flavor.

China is killing Americans....and you're upset because I have the baIIs to say something. Clearly you don't have any.

Do you also hate the Italians, because they ware aligned with Germany?

          • Dude you’re clearly one of those people that no matter what I say you’re still going to think what you think, so I’m just going to keep it short. You talk about Chinese people eating dogs, yea that’s true, but what about the cows we eat in North America? People in India would say that’s disgusting because they value cows. Or what about the bush meats they eat in Africa, bats, raccoons, monkeys. Or what about the horses they eat in France? Horses are considered one of the most intelligent animals, more intelligent than dogs, go and save your horses in France. Go save the monkeys in Africa. Dude China has no issues with America... don’t be stupid. I have family in China, they love America. The only people the Chinese don’t like are the Japanese.

          • For one reason or another, the IiberaIs will not allow me to respond to you subsequent post…so here it is:

Biden lies….just like all the democrats lie, you China-loving IiberaI.

I’m already training for January 21st, when Biden will give China the OK to go after this US citizen on US soil….just like Obama did.

I will tell you this….if you and your BFF dog-kiIIer ChinaGuyLevi get anywhere near my Frenchie girl, you will both experience the awesome power of the world’s fastest reloading shotgun… and a simultaneous coIonoscopy.

There is a reason why the China-loving IiberaIs will not allow me to respond to ChinaGuyLevi’s last comment….but I will have the last laugh….I always do.

            I despise dog kiIIers.

          • Eloon?! Wtf u smoking?! I give zero F’s if ELON Musk is rich or not. Besides, the only thing that’s successful with Tesla is stocks which a bunch of dumb people keep buying otherwise the real cash cow is Space X. Tesla is simply not valuable compared to GM or Ford without the stock market. If it wasn’t for the stock market it would be worth hardly anything. Also, in case you haven’t noticed every time Biden takes another victory the stock market goes up and every time Trump does something Radical (for example two days ago) the stock market plummets. Also, Biden said multiple times that he wants to start transitioning away from China to help with American infrastructure where as Trump gets his merch from China therefore he and his supporters are funding the Chinese economy.

          • SpaceballsX is too dumb to use anything other than kerosene for rocket fuel. They also have a horrible safety record, but I suppose it's much better than TESLA safety record....by a billion times.

          • Extremists and terrorists? What about your beloved Joe Biden??? JOE BIDEN’s MENTOR AND BEST FRIEND WAS A MAN BY THE NAME OF ROBERT BYRD. BYRD WAS A KKK GRAND WIZARD WHO HELD HIS OWN CHAPTER OF KKK. IN 1994 JOE BIDEN PASSED A RACIST CRIME BILL WHICH PUT THOUSANDS OF BLACKS AND OTHER COLOURED PEOPLE IN PRISON FOR PETTY WEED CRIMES. JOE BIDEN SAYS YOU DONT VOTE FOR HIM YOU AINT BLACK. JOE BIDEN SAYS HE DOESNT WANT HIS CHILDREN GROWING UP IN A JUNGLE, AND THE JUNGLE BEING A PLACE WITH BLACK KIDS. JOE BIDEN IS A RACIST PIECE OF TURD.

          • Get off the weed and Fox News. If no one can see the problem of what happened two days ago, you got issues. And of corse have fun assassinating Biden on the 20th and just to let you know if you do Kamala Harris will become president and if you kill her, then Nancy Pelosi will become President. Do we even have to get on to Trump being racist? “Mexicans are rapist” “Go back to your country” “Shít hole countries” “Kung flu” The is justice department suing him for racial discrimination, saying that “they shouldn’t be running a casino because they don’t look like Indians to me”, saying Indian instead of Native American or Indigenous. And of corse his famous “Proud Boys, Stand back and stand by.” Of corse now we know what that means. Everyone in this country is done with this BS. We just need to move on and respect one another.

          • Donald Trump is a self preserving crook. And Joe Biden is a KKK sympathizer. They both are pieces of turd. But at the very least Trump doesn’t hide who he is. Whereas dirty disgusting slimy slippery slithering Joe Snake Biden will pretend to help the blacks, WHILE HES A KKK LEADER. Trump makes me laugh at his craziness. Joe Biden DISGUSTS ME. Joe Biden is a racist piece of turd.

          • I don’t watch Fox News or CNN. I don’t follow biased news stations. I try my best to see both sides. Trump sucks. Biden sucks. But Joe Biden is disgusting. He disgusts me. He’s racist. He’s KKK. But people want to act like he’s a hero.

          • No one really wanted Biden in the first place. My friend literally has a shirt that says settle for Biden. The thing about Biden sympathizing a KKK grand wizard is only partially true. Here’s part of an article from The AP:
CLAIM: When former KKK Grand Wizard Robert Byrd died in 2010, he was eulogized by Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

AP’S ASSESSMENT: Partly false. Biden did eulogize Sen. Robert C. Byrd when he died, but Byrd was not a “grand wizard” in the Ku Klux Klan. He was a member of the KKK in the early 1940s but later renounced his affiliation with the hate group.

Not the best decision by Biden but clearly Trump is very unstable at the moment and we just needed a different person before something really bad happens. If it makes you better he’ll probably be dead before his term is up based on how fast fast the presidency has aged the average president. We need something different than old white men. Why can’t we just have someone under 60?

          • You two China lovers should get a room.

Go ahead and sit down with your Chinese buddies and have some Chow Chow. You know, they boil puppies alive…makes the skin easier to peel while preserving flavor.

If any of you two China-loving dog eating kweerdos get anywhere close to my Frenchie, I will introduce you to the world's fastest reloading shotgun and a simultaneous colonoscopy....because I can.

          • @AceSpades
Shut your dumb ass up. Take your Frenchie and go jump off a bridge, or in front of a moving train.

          • Regarding your last comment about me shutting up....I don't think so. You ain't big enough to make me.

As far as me being dumb....I don't think so. Your heros Obama, Jeh Johnson and China still can't figure out how to take me out...and they have tried...and they will try again....and I had 4 years to get ready...and that's all I needed.

Good luck with the entire praising and loving China thing.....they will pay for their crimes...especially for their destruction of the oceans.

Hopefully Xi will finally send a man to do a man's job...because I can never hurt a woman....and that piece of sheiss was always too yellow to send a man...because he knows what I am capable of.

          • @AceSpade

Dude, you watch too much news, you’re completely brain washed. Go eat some shrooms and go for a walk in the forrest. You are a disturbed person.

          • CheryChinaGuyLevi...so when was the last time you heard anyone on the NEWS say that powerful EMF could be dangerous due to long term exposure? (The last guy to try it Bill O'Reilly and he was promptly booted by the left IMMEDIATELY)

When was the last time anyone on the NEWS reported on the massive vaccination effort in China in late 2019....or how China tried to license the most effective COVID-19 treatment over a year ago, before the WHO even had a clue about a a impending pandemic? There is a plethora of scientific evidence that this virus was not made by nature, yet the NEWS covers for China, just like you do.

So here is a trivia question for you: Did more Americans die in WWII or from COVID-19? (Hint, in 2 more months China will have killed twice as many Americans as the total number of Americans killed in WWII)

I'm done with you. Good luck telling folks that boiling puppies alive like your precious China does is no different than eating cows.

          • @AceSpades

You have issues man, serious issues within yourself. I have nothing else to say to you. You’re so far gone, there’s no bringing you back. Peace out. I hope you find healing within yourself. Or just go jump off a bridge. Later <3

    • When I go to Boston, I park outside the city and take the T in and outbound because it is more efficient to deal with the congestion, parking, and price gouging. Boston is its own entity, they really shouldn't be dictating their way of life to the rest of the state which is majority rural. Even the Patriots don't what to be in the city.

      • I think "m" meant that the WHO cares....you know....the Wuhan Health Organization. This is because Wuhan will make a lot of money on selling materials and components needed to make BEVs. China has a near monopoly on a lot of this stuff, especially the rare earth metals needed to make the motors.

      • Let's be real here.

It's not like any affordable, cool, nice looking, awesome performing ICE vehicles are being produced right now anyways. Other than the Challenger.

        C8? Puke.
        Camaro? Barf
Mustang? do we even have to discuss?

So why bother even lamenting it?

        • The Mustang is getting redesigned in probably about a year and based on the path Ford has been taking with their new vehicles it’s probably going to be a plug in hybrid or just a full out EV however I doubt that they would take away the V8 since a V8 in bodies the spirit of the Mustang. In the end because FCA sucks at updating their products, it might be for the better. I love the boxy design of it and it’s headlights and I love how they add more and more power every few years. The C8 is great but it just seems to modern which some people like some don’t but it’s a great well thought out performance car in the end.

        • That’s YOUR OPINION. lol for $30-$40k CAD people are buying CT4s and Camaros with great performance and handling. Speak for yourself buddy.

          “Why bother even lamenting it?”

-because some people enjoy them. Just because you prefer that boat junk challenger over Camaros, you think ICE cars are stupid? Dude the world doesn’t revolve just around you.

        • So m, how would you compare the interior of a $100,000 TESLA to that of a $20,000 ICE Hyundai?

Or how about comparing the looks of a TESLA Model 3 to a GENESIS G70?

Or how about the TESLA Model X to a Mercedes GLS....inside and out?

Or how about Rosie O'Donnell to Ivanka Trump?

          • Tesla is the brand with the worst quality and is overpriced. The only benefit to them is the charging network which if all the automakers work together they can create a larger charging network. At this point almost all the brands who have realeased a EV in the past few years have created a car a lot better then a overpriced Tesla like GMC and the Hummer and Ford and the Mach-E and all the Rivians and especially Lucid Air which I think will be one of the most successful start up brand created within the last 20 years

          • Most of those EVs that you say have been released in the past few years have actually not been released and are still many months away from being released. The nice looking ones like the Hummer have styling that is completely based on ICE Hummers. You've got to be a mor on not to see the extensive styling that the Mach-E inherited from ICE Mustangs. If you think Rivan is better looking than ICE SUVs and Trucks, well then you probably also think the Leaf is georgeous. Even your precious Lucid Air looks like a four door Isuzu 4200R from 32 years ago with many styling elements clearly lifted from a Peugeot 508.

  • How well will this work for camping and road trips along New England. Pulling a camper will use more battery

    • True, but the battery fires will burn much hotter and more frequently on those cold winter days.

        • Electric cars are not ready. I’m not buying one until charging systems and EV platforms are perfected. ICE is way better. Industrial places make way more pollution than cars, we need to clean up major infrastructure like factories and start making more clean electricity before we worry about banning gas cars.

  • This will be awesome what will the people with gas cars do traveling through, rent an electric uhaul to get their gas powered car to the other side of the state? Those with classic cars will be storing gas in the garage at home?
