Buyers looking at large SUVs normally look to the body style to fit a variety of needs. An SUV offers abundant cargo space, can haul the kids around and provides towing capability. It’s no surprise that of the most driven vehicles in the United States, all but one are SUVs.
And the Chevrolet Suburban ranks number one, according to new statistics from iSeeCars. The Suburban racks up 14,299 miles driven annually, which is well over the rough average of 12,000 annual miles most drivers clock. Trailing closely behind the Suburban is the GMC Yukon XL with 14,109 miles driven yearly.
In fact, all of General Motors’ big SUVs made the list. The Chevrolet Tahoe placed third with 13,645 miles driven yearly; the GMC Yukon placed fifth with 13,396 miles yearly; and the Cadillac Escalade ESV rounded things out in eighth place with 13,257 miles driven.
When looking at individual segments, the Chevrolet Silverado also led the pack in the pickup truck segment with 12,514 miles annually. The GMC Sierra, like the Yukon XL, nearly tied with 12,360 miles annually.
As for the least driven car in the U.S.? That would be the Chevrolet Corvette convertible. Research showed owners drive the sports car just 4,365 miles annually.

No surprise, as these are the perfect road trip vehicles!
The Suburban, and Yukon XL have replaced the Lincoln Town Car for executive car service to airports. The average family might put 10,000 to 12,000 miles a year on their Suburban while the Suburban doing shuttle service might put 50,000 miles on it per year. I used Uber to go to the airport last week and the guy had a 2015 black Suburban with just over 250,000 miles on it.
