General Motors has appointed Marc Comeau as vice president of Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing for GM China and SAIC-GM. He will replace John Stadwick, who will repatriate to the U.S. The appointment is effective February 1st, 2016.
Comeau will report to GM Executive Vice President and President of GM China Matt Tsien in his GM China role and SAIC-GM Executive Vice President Julian Blissett in his SAIC-GM role. He will be based at the Shanghai headquarters of SAIC-GM, GM’s manufacturing and sales joint venture with SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation).
“Marc brings to GM China and our joint venture a wealth of experience in automotive sales and marketing in both Asia and North America,” said Tsien. “His expertise will help the joint venture strengthen its strategic marketing capabilities and further improve customer experience.”
Comeau joined GM Canada in 1983 and has held various sales and marketing positions throughout his GM career, including senior roles in multiple GM regions. Since 2013, he has served as vice president responsible for Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing at GM Korea.
