GM Canada Set To Announce “New Mandate for Oshawa Engineering Center” Tomorrow

GM Canada is set to make an announcement tomorrow regarding the Oshawa Engineering Center, a GM-owned facility located beside the Oshawa Car Assembly plant in Southern Ontario, which lies about 60 km (37 miles) East of downtown Toronto.

Titled ‘GM Canada Announcement on New Mandate for Oshawa Engineering Centre’, the press release says Steve Carlisle, President and Managing Director GM Canada, will announce a “new Canadian advanced technology and commercialization mandate and jobs” at the engineering centre on April 28.

But Carlise won’t be the only one to hit the podium as The Honourable Brad Duguid, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities and Dr. Amir Khajepour, Canada Research Chair at the University of Waterloo are also set to take the mic.

Of course, a new job announcement wouldn’t be complete without a local politician and GM has tapped Dr. Colin Carrie, Member of Parliament for Oshawa, for that duty. He’ll also take the podium sometime tomorrow morning.

We’ll get the full scoop by mid-day so be sure to swing back for the full kit and caboodle tomorrow afternoon.
