Laguna Blue 2015 Corvette Z06 On The ‘Ring: Video

Chevrolet is back at the Green Hell with a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in marvelous “Laguna Blue.” And what’s more, this is an example fitted with the brand new 8-speed automatic with paddle-shifters.

You know, the conventional torque-converter automatic that General Motors claims shifts more quickly than a Porsche dual-clutch?

It’s too bad that the few, quick clips we have here of the car passing by are in such tight quarters; they hardly allow for the engine to reach a high enough RPM to let us hear that sweet, sweet music from the tailpipe. As such, it’s equally difficult to hear how quickly that 8-speed auto is banging off shifts.

We certainly hope that this Laguna Blue example can make it around the Nordschleife trouble-free, and even give Chevrolet an official lap time that they can tell the public.
