Today, the National Association of Broadcasters’ Education Foundation (NABEF) announced that General Motors would be the recipient of the Corporate Leadership Award. This honor is given out annually to a non-broadcast company that depicts a remarkable focus on community service and corporate social responsibility.
The awards program is scheduled for Tuesday, June 17th at the National Building Museum.
Some of GM’s recent corporate citizenship highlights include a $1 million donation to the American Cancer Society, another $1 to various Detroit charities, $400,000 to the Karmanos Cancer Institute, $1 million to the Smithsonian, and $400,000 to the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
