General Motors has awarded A123 Systems the contract to source its Nanophosphate lithium ion battery cell technology and systems that will be used in future electric vehicles that will be sold around the world. The contract essentially extends the current relationship between GM and A123.
A123 Systems recently hired its 1,000th employee in Michigan, and is based in Massachusetts.
Sales decreased 5.6 percent to 16,670 units during the first ten months of 2024.
Specifically critical minerals supply chain development.
Scheduled for a Spring 2025 launch.
