We here at GM Authority have seen quite a few sketchy towing videos, usually with multiple vehicles hitched up in a conga line of danger or some other hazardous situation. This video, however, is a bit different, showing a Ford pickup propelling two Cadillac sedans simultaneously. Thing is, one of the Caddys is behind the Ford, while the other is in front of it.
The video was recently published on social media and was apparently captured on Interstate 35 in Dallas, Texas. The circumstances of the video are unclear, but it appears as though the video was shot from the phone of another motorist. That said, everything we do see tells quite the story.
As the video begins, we see a Cadillac DTS towed behind a Ford Super Duty dually tow truck. The front wheels of the DTS are up in the air as the four-door is pulled down the highway. According to the video text overlay, the dually pickup truck is traveling at a good clip, around 65 mph.
As we watch, the frame moves toward the front end of the vehicle, where we see some script on the door stating “We Buy Junk Cars,” followed by a phone number. However, it’s what’s directly in front of the Ford pickup that’s most surprising. Just ahead of the pickup, we see an eighth-generation Cadillac DeVille, which is apparently getting pushed by the Ford truck.
As we move ahead, we see that, indeed, there’s nothing to attach the DeVille to the Ford Super Duty. The tow truck driver is literally pushing the second Caddy down the road with the bumper while simultaneously towing another Caddy sedan behind it. There also appears to be someone in the DeVille driver’s seat, so at least there’s a human on board to steer and brake. Still, this doesn’t appear to be the safest towing configuration.
