Off-Road 2014 Chevy Silverado Reaper Up For Sale

When the Blue Oval unveiled the off-road-focused Ford Raptor back in 2010, General Motors was caught flat footed without a direct competitor to this new pickup truck. In an effort to remedy this, The General collaborated with Lingenfelter Performance Engineering and custom builder Southern Comfort Automotive (SCA) Performance to develop the Chevy Silverado Reaper. Now, one of these Bow Tie all-terrain racers is currently listed for sale.

Posted for sale online in Leakesville, Mississippi, this 2014 Chevy Silverado Reaper appears to be in good condition considering its intended go-anywhere ideology. With 153,500 miles on the odometer, the seller is currently asking $28,000 for this Reaper.

Starting with the exterior, the Silverado Reaper features various styling tweaks that differentiate it from more pedestrian Silverado models and allude to its off-road capabilities. Up front, there’s tow hooks and light bars integrated into an aftermarket front bumper, contributing to the Reaper’s high approach angle. Notably, when viewing this Silverado head-on, the widened fender flares become much more apparent.

Of course, these wider fenders are hiding a fat wheel and tire setup. When new, the Silverado Reaper featured 20-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch off-road tires, while 17-inch beadlock wheels were optional.

Aside from a select few touches for the gauge cluster and the likes, the interior appears to be largely the same as the standard 2014 Chevy Silverado 1500, of which the Reaper is based on.

As with any Baja-inspired pickup, output figures are important. The Reaper was available with either a supercharged 5.3L V8, rated at 475 horsepower, or a supercharged 6.2L V8, rated at 550 horsepower. This particular Silverado Reaper features the former powerplant mated to the GM six-speed automatic transmission.

So, what do you think, dear reader? Is this 2014 Chevy Silverado Reaper worth the asking price? Let us know in the comment section below!

  • That's the dumbest looking truck I've seen in a while. It's like someone wanted the angry Jeep look but didn't own a Jeep.

  • This truck is brutal. Even I was given it the only time i would be driving it is to trade it in

  • Did GM actually have anything to do with this? The styling isn't just "not for everyone". It's just really, really bad.

The 2014 Silverado is a decent looking truck. This looks like a joke.

    • I don’t think they had anything to do with it, pretty sure these guys voided the factory warranty but offered their own 3 year or something

  • This looks like an 8yo threw up while playing with Photoshop, WTF? If this is really how it looked back then somebody should definitely have been fired starting with the CEO.

  • I remember looking at this back in 2014 thinking it was cool, granted I was 14 at the time. Looking at it now hideous. I think ligenfelter made it. It was going for like 80k new too
