In this day-and-age of modern technology and high expectations, the 650 horsepower that the Chevy Camaro ZL1 churns out in stock form may not cut it for some owners. For those of you who may find yourself in this dilemma, be sure check out Hennessey Performance’s solution, the Exorcist Camaro ZL1.
Born out of a desire to outperform the Dodge Hellcat, Hennessy takes a stock Camaro ZL1 and dials the horsepower knob up to 11. An extensive list of engine upgrades and parts – including a new high-flow supercharger and air induction system, a custom Hennessey camshaft, ported heads, an auxiliary fuel system, upgraded valve train, new lifters and pushrods, and an oversized heat exchanger – bring total output of the Exorcist up to 1,000 horsepower and 883 pound-feet of torque.
Custom tuned on Hennessy’s dyno, and expelling spent exhaust fumes through long-tube headers and high-flow cats, the Exorcist Camaro will launch to 60 mph in as little as 2.1 seconds, along with a quarter mile time of 9.57 seconds at 147 mph. Top speed is 217 mph.
What makes this particular Chevy Camaro interesting is the transmission situation. While the Camaro ZL1 can be equipped with the GM 10-speed automatic transmission, this Exorcist utilizes the GM six-speed manual transmission. Yes, Hennessy offers owners the ability to row their own gears with 1,000 horsepower on tap.
In the video, this Exorcist Camaro ZL1 is put through its paces, with plenty of top speed runs and acceleration tests before being delivered to its new owner. However, an important note the driver kept making was the drivability. Many people may believe that a vehicle with 1,000 horsepower would be a bear to drive on the streets. However, this Exorcist Camaro demonstrates that it can do both. Slow driving isn’t obnoxious, while the clutch feel isn’t tremendously heavy. However, put your foot into it, and this muscle car quickly reveals its true intentions.
It’s worth noting that Hennessy offers an even more extreme Camaro ZL1 for those who may be so inclined.
So, what do you think, dear reader? Is Hennessey Performance’s Camaro ZL1 build worthy of the Exorcist name? Let us know in the comment section below!

Wow! Sign me up! What a BEAST!😂
Years ago, that would be 60 years ago, we all thought there was no such thing as too much horsepower.
Could be my old age or experience, but I now know there's no such thing as too much traction, and horsepower is secondary. Every time I turn off the traction control in less than ideal conditions and watch a Prius go by is a reality check. Doesn't stop me, doesn't even make me concerned, but, have you noticed the price increase on tires?
Like to have one to see!
This an awesome Camaro and the sound and feel are superb! There is no way battery powered cars will ever be as fun to drive. GM should continue producing the ICE Camaros, Corvettes and Cadillac V Blackings…!!!
