Hear The 1,000-HP Hennessey Exorcist Chevy Camaro Roar: Video

Well-known tuning shop Hennessey Performance Engineering has released a video showing a Chevy Camaro ZL1 equipped with its 1,000-horsepower Exorcist package being put through its paces on its private test track in Sealy, Texas.

While many Hennessey videos posted to its YouTube channel featuring one of its technicians explaining the upgrades they’ve done to the vehicle, or a customer reacting to their vehicle’s performance upgrades, this video lets the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8-powered Exorcist do all the talking. That means no yammering about aftermarket parts and no poorly mixed soundtrack to drown out the unmistakable sound of that Small Block V8. This is just raw, uninterrupted video of an absurdly powerful Chevy Camaro being driven exactly how it was meant to be.

The Hennessey Exorcist package for the Chevy Camaro trades the 6.2L LT4 V8 engine’s factory supercharger for an upgraded 2.9L unit from Magnuson. Other upgrades include ported cylinder heads, an upgraded camshaft, long-tube stainless steel headers, a high-flow air induction system and retuned engine management software. Hennessey says the package is good for 1,000 horsepower and 883 pound-feet of torque, enabling the Chevy Camaro ZL1 to hustle from zero to 60 mph in as little as 2.1 seconds with the optional Hennessey H10 wheels and rear drag radial tires equipped. Exorcist-equipped Camaros can also hit a top speed of 217 mph and complete the quarter-mile in 9.57 seconds at 147 mph.

The Chevy Camaro ZL1 seen in this Hennessey-produced video also features the optionally available 1LE package which comes with a front splitter and front dive planes, a rear wing, Multimatic DSSV dampers, adjustable camber plates and rear stabilizer bars, 19-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, a carbon fiber hood weave insert and other performance-focused parts.

  2. I’m guessing it still can’t beat the Demon (which was the intention hence the name)?
For a powerful car, yes it’s very impressive, but for what it was intended to do it’s embarrassing.

  3. When the Camaro is taken away from you guys THEN HAVE A WHINGE. You are going to miss a great car thanks to all the Negative People. This happened here in Oz with the Commodore and Falcon. Shut up & enjoy what you have & what you can STILL BUY.
