Wild Xfinity Race For NASCAR Chevy Teams At Phoenix Spring 2023: Video

The NASCAR Chevy teams had a rollercoaster of a race at Phoenix Raceway for the Xfinity Series race on March 11^th, 2023. Teammates tangled, Camaro race cars spun out and recovered, and the Bow Tie put up a fight against the Toyota Supra racers that would ultimately lead them across the line.

Sheldon Creed, driver of the No. 2 Chevy Camaro in the Xfinity Series, spun on Lap 148, losing track position and causing a caution, but he was able to salvage a third-place finish at the end of the day. Meanwhile, Cup Series regular, Kyle Busch, took control of the No. 10 Camaro for the race at Phoenix, but on the last lap, he contacted his teammate, Chandler Smith, in the No. 16 Camaro. Busch’s No. 10 Camaro ultimately finished ninth, while Smith brought the No. 16 Camaro across the line in fifth place.

Justin Allgaier, driver of the No. 7 Camaro, looked to be the car to beat in the early portion of the race, even sweeping the first and second stage wins. However, he was involved in an incident with his fellow NASCAR Chevy driver, Brandon Jones in the No. 9 Camaro. Allgaier’s No. 7 Chevy spun and crashed hard on Lap 178, ending his hopes of a dominating performance.

The No. 8 Camaro of Josh Berry and the No. 1 Camaro of Sam Mayer also had a run-in, resulting in Berry’s No. 9 Camaro spinning out. Berry managed to wheel the No. 8 Camaro back to a seventh-place finish, while Mayer’s No. 1 Camaro crossed the line 11^th.

Sammy Smith, meanwhile, guided the No. 18 Toyota Supra to the win, followed by the No. 19 Supra of Ryan Truex.
