1970 was the acme of performance for the GM A-Bodies. The restriction on engine size removed in order to better battle offerings from FoMoCo and MOPAR in the horsepower war, the Oldsmobile 442 was offered with the 455 cubic-inch V8 producing 370 horsepower in W-30 trim. Cosmetic changes included vertical grille bars, rectangular front bumper parking lights, and vertical tail lights.
The recipient of a frame-off restoration, this Oldsmobile 442 is resplendent in its factory shade of 28A Twilight Blue over rust-free original sheet metal. It is accented with white stripes and a white vinyl top. The interior is an attractive and desirable Pearl White vinyl. It is powered by the numbers matching 455 V8 backed by the original four-speed manual transmission. During the restoration, it had all the parts added from the W-30 option package.
The Twilight Blue finish on this Oldsmobile 442 has been done to a high standard, and its lustrous finish shows great attention to detail in prep and execution. Panel gaps are consistent throughout. Chrome bumpers and trim have not been re-plated, but retain much of their original shine. Stainless has been polished to a glossy sheen. The glass is crystal clear. Raised white letter BFGoodrich rubber is wrapped around Olds Super Stock wheels. The white vinyl hardtop appears to have been professionally recovered.
The white vinyl interior of this Oldsmobile 442 provides the perfect contrast to the Twilight Blue exterior. Bucket seats show little sign of use. Black carpets appear fresh, with no signs of fading. The dash is crack-free. Chrome-rimmed round Rally Pack gauges look showroom new. A factory AM-FM radio resides in the dash. A factory console runs between the bucket seats and is home to the white shift ball-topped chrome Hurst shifter.
The engine bay is tidy and correct, with the proper red plastic inner front fenders fitted. The 455 is topped by a W-30 optional aluminum intake and ram air induction air cleaner. An upgraded aluminum radiator keeps things running cool, fed by the hood scoops. This 442 lacks power brakes, as the hotter cam four-speed cars did not produce enough vacuum for the booster.
The trunk of this Oldsmobile 442 is rust free and well dressed. It features fresh spatter paint, a correct Olds trunk mat, decals, a Firestone Wide Oval tire on a freshly painted steel wheel, jack and tools.
This Oldsmobile 442 is being offered by Volo Auto Sales for $67,998.

Hey GM look what real car designers are not like the current crap of design teams currently being used. isnt it funny 50 years later this is more desirable than 80 percent of General Motors offerings.
Wow, looks nicely done. Cars were HUGE in those daze. But those daze are GONE, sadly.
Had a '70 442 without the W-30 package and with the turbo 400 trans behind the 455 365hp BB. Lucky for me it was my 1st car and had through high school. Being a NE car it's frame and body were riddled with rot. Sad as I would love to have it now but frames and body panels were not available then. Mine was the forest green with a black interior and vinyl top which was removed ASAP. Loved all the underdog A-bodies from the Olds 442/hurst models to the Buick GS and Pontiac GTO's. Although, I would still love to have an LS6 Chevelle SS. Ohhhh the choices back then...lol.
Keep it! no air conditioning and no power brakes, I'll take a Buick Gran Sport any day over one of these
