2016 Chevrolet Camaro Unlikely To Appear In ‘Batman V Superman’

General Motors has quite a running history with Batman’s cars. Some time ago, we learned the heart of the latest Batmobile was indeed an LS crate engine. And GM is no stranger to the silver screen. The company shines brightly in the Transformers films, Tomorrowland and, most recently, in the upcoming Entourage film. But it looks like Batman won’t be getting a look at the latest 2016 Chevrolet Camaro.

Recently, rumors had been swirling about the car making an appearance in the upcoming film “Batman v Superman,” set to release in March of 2016. Al Oppenheiser, chief Camaro engineer, says he hasn’t heard a thing about this coming about, speaking to The Detroit Free Press.

“I think that’s just internet buzz, which is great,” Oppenheiser said. “It’s another thing about this segment of cars: there’s always internet buzz.”

Further fueling the rumors was the patent filed by General Motors for “Camaro Krypton” and “Krypton.” Oppenheiser merely states it may be an upcoming color to be added to the 2016 Camaro’s palette in the future.

“Sometimes when we come up with a new color in our studios, they just apply (for a trademark) in case we ever use it,” Oppenheiser said. “We never said we’re going to do anything with that color.”

So, there you have it auto enthusiast slash comic fans. Only time will tell what Camaro Krypton really means.
