If you’ve watched Motor Trend‘s Roadkill video series, you’ve probably seen most of the crazy stuff that hosts David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan have done over the years with their project cars — often beaters that they buy from strangers or fans that they meet — like this absolutely epic new form of LS engine-swapping.
In the latest episode, episode 36, Freiburger and Finnegan take the Muscle Truck, an LS6-powered 1974 Chevrolet C10 pickup truck, and an old jet boat to a local Southern California lake to compete in a Tom Papp Memorial boating event. Wanting to compete in the drag racing division, they proceed with taking the LS6 engine out of the truck and putting it into the boat upon arriving at the lake.
As usual, nothing goes according to plan, but the Roadkill guys still manage to have fun. Oh yeah, and after a long day of boating, they still have to put the LS6 engine back into the truck before they can go home. That right there is an adventure in itself.
