Opel Corsa OPC Teased Ahead Of Geneva Debut: Video

GM’s German branch is inciting a bit of excitement for the sported-up Opel Corsa OPC ahead of its anticipated Geneva Motor Show debut in March. See the video below.

In it, racing driver Joachim “Jockel” Winkelhock of touring car fame drives the new OPC with Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann. The racing driver is “amazed at how harmonious the car is. How beautifully balanced.” He comments favorably on the willing, drivable engine, as well.

Even through the camouflage obscuring this car’s precise shape, it’s recognizable as the OPC variant of the new Opel Corsa E thanks to the dual exhaust, snug sport seats, big, sparse wheels, and of course, a characteristic spoiler. The massive grin on Dr. Neumann’s face while driving the car is confirmation of what Mr. Winkelhock had been saying.

So far, Opel has not shared what petrol-drinking bit of engineering tucks under the hood of this OPC variant, but it’s anticipated that the Opel Corsa OPC makes use of the same 207 HP turbocharged 1.6-liter from the OPC Nürburgring Edition of the previous Corsa.
