70 or so cars descended on Michigan’s Gingerman raceway this weekend for the comically named Cure for Gingervitis 24 Hours of LeMons race. Competitiors were broken up into A, B, and C classes, with A being the fastest and C being the slowest.
Several teams entered GM products that had seen better days in the Detroit LeMons race (even though Gingerman is on the other side of Michigan), including the ‘Loose Lugs Racing’ team, who campaigned the same wretched and beat up old 1992 Chevrolet S10 pickup as last year. On the first day of racing on Saturday, Loose Lugs battled with the three other competitors competing in the C class, but eventually came in second behind the ‘Flux Decapacitors’ team in their Ford Tempo. However on Sunday, the team of young GM engineers managed to power back and finish first in the class, 1 lap ahead of the Ford.
Loose Lugs also raced in the 24 hours of LeMons in Detroit last year, although this year their S10 was sporting a shiny new Miller Beet themed coat of paint, replacing the Jack Daniels theme from last year. We’d like to say congratulations to Loose Lugs on their class victory and we hope to see them out at Gingerman Raceway next year.

If you haven't done a LeMons race you need to. It's a hoot.
And yes, GM is well represented. As C&D put it when they entered an Olds Aurora a few years back: GM cars run like shit longer than some cars run at all.
