We’ve seen photos of a Buick wagon before, but so far nothing’s come to fruition. It could be that the development team decided to hold off on a Regal wagon until the 2014 refresh, in which case we now see photos of such a vehicle that was caught hot-weather testing in Gerudo Death Valley.
Little is known about what a refreshed Regal will bring, but we hope for more differentiation from the Opel Insignia — it’s European sibling — going forward. At least on the inside. A bit more Buick and a little less Rüsselsheim, per se. Regardless, we’re excited to see some more variety in the Regal line to go with the now-standard eAssist model, the no-cost-option Turbo variant, and the corner-carving GS variant.

I already own a 2012 Regal Turbo and I can tell you right now I would buy a Regal Sport Wagon in a heartbeat.
I was in Michigan for the dream cruise last month, and saw an undisguised Opel Insignia Wagon on the streets very near Woodward.

Really? What do you see around the Warren Technical Center? I'd love to hear some examples as I live in D.C. and many embassies and diplomats tool around in very unique European cars not for sale in America like Citroens, Alfa Romeos, Fiats, Peugeot, BMW 120D, BMW X1 Diesel, Audi A4 Allroad Diesel, VW Touran, etc.
A wagon would help them compete with Acura, who are going to be axing the TSX soon.
That's just the Opel being tested along with the Buick versions. Look at the obvious Opel grille. the sedans all had the Buick grille. Yet again, teasers followed by disappointment. If Buick had brought us the wagon, I wouldn't have bought my 4th Passat in February. Sedan vs sedan, I chose the 48 mpg TDI mileage I see week in and week out over what I actually thought was an overall nicer Regal. Had the Regal been available in a GS sport wagon model, the general would have $40K of my cash instead of the $30k I gave VW.
