Chevy Trax Rolls Over Following High-Speed Police Chase: Video

An allegedly stolen Chevy Trax was involved in a high-speed police chase in Arkansas that ended with the crossover flipping over following a successful Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) maneuver. The intense pursuit was caught on camera by Arkansas State Police and posted to social media.

The video is a little over nine minutes long, showing the chase, as well as its eventual conclusion. The incident occurred on December 5th, 2024.

The incident kicked off at 3:38 p.m. local after local authorities were alerted to a stolen vehicle from a residence on County Road 69 in Baxter County. A deputy initially spotted the Trax heading southbound on State Highway 5 and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled. Although law enforcement temporarily lost sight of the vehicle, officers regained contact as the crossover traveled northbound near a Dollar General store.

During the pursuit, the suspect can be seen driving recklessly, passing vehicles in the center lane and nearly colliding with deputies as police follow close behind. Speeds reportedly reached over 100 mph as the driver in the stolen vehicle attempted to lose his pursuers.

Officers made several unsuccessful attempts at spinning the stolen vehicle before finally executing a successful TVI maneuver near the Charles Blackburn Drive intersection. The maneuver involved colliding with the rear of the vehicle, which resulted in the Chevy Trax exiting the roadway and rolling over before coming to a rest on its roof.

After the Chevy Trax is seen rolled over, several police officers swarm the crossover, forcefully pulling the suspect from the wreckage.

The suspect was later taken into custody and treated him for minor injuries before he was transported to a local hospital for a full evaluation. At the hospital, the suspect was tested for signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
