Camaro Driver Walks Away After Crashing Into Moving Train: Accident Watch

Talk about Lady Luck being on your side. According to a news report out of Conroe, Texas, the driver of this Chevrolet Camaro was heading southbound on FM 1485 when he lost control of the vehicle on a curved portion of road. The Camaro covered nearly 100 feet before striking a moving train heading eastbound.

As the above photo shows, it wasn’t a pretty scene. After the airbags deployed, OnStar phoned 911 with the position of the vehicle. Upon the first responders arrival, they knocked the front windshield out of the car and to their surprise, the driver climbed out of the vehicle under his own power.

Sadly, that’s far more than what the recent train crash in New York can say.

Unfortunately after arriving at the hospital and being treated for minor scratches, the man was charged with a DWI. He is incredibly lucky to have his life after a horrendous crash like this one, and we only hope the DWI charge helps this fella sober up.

Meanwhile, the train’s operator had no idea a vehicle had struck the locomotive, and kept on moving east bound until he was subsequently informed of the incident.

  • The NY train acciodent was really a bad incident, and the driver that crossed the track was also killed. I feel bad for the train passengers that were killed or injured yet were blameless.
