Dearest Yoopers, if you see a black object with wheels and wheels moving silently in the snow, don’t shoot it. It’s not a deer, or a bear, or Sasquatch. It’s a Cadillac ELR undergoing winter testing. Because Sweden was too far, probably.
We bet that the over four inches of fresh snowfall helped the validation team put the final specifications on the ELR’s steering, tires, anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic stability control and GM’s Continuous Damping Control system combined with HiPer Strut in the front and Z-Link suspension in the back. The CDC system is said to adjust damping every two milliseconds to maintain optimal control over varying road conditions, not unlike the fast-twitch nature of Magnetic Ride Control.
Cadillac also Easter Egged the all-new CTS in one of their photos and posted it publicly on Facebook, but took it down before we were able to grab a screen shot. So if anybody’s got it and wants to send it our way, that would be great.

Where in the UP are they testing?
My guess would be around Houghton/Calumet area. Lot of lake effect snow off of mother Superior, plus close to an airport and MTU.
Since I am in that area, I will watch for them, they could be on the Keweenaw Research Center Winter Driving course by the airport.
