The classic Chevy C10 has a design many enthusiasts cherish, but Eric Wright’s custom creation takes that admiration to a new level.
This one-of-a-kind double-sided truck features two 1975 GM pickup cabs – one Chevy and one GMC – which were welded back-to-back in order to create a vehicle that looks the same way going forward as it does going backward. While it might seem drivable from either end, Wright humorously clarifies, “one way is enough.”
Wright’s ownership of the double-sided truck spans more than two-and-a-half decades, with the enthusiast first discovering the unique creation on eBay. Through many years of effort, he has refined nearly every detail of the truck, upgrading the engine, adding a modern transmission, modifying the wheels, tires, and interior, and even repainting it. By undertaking much of the work himself, Wright managed to spread the costs over time without breaking the bank.
Among the many standout details, Eric ensured the truck has matching rear-view mirrors on both ends for visual symmetry. Lifting the hood in back, you’ll find a large trunk space for storage, or, as is the case currently, a massive subwoofer and amplifier. He also added rear LED brake lights from a bus. However, the finishing touch came with the custom Massachusetts license plate, “WHT-THE,” a nod to the shocked reactions of onlookers.
The double-sided Chevy C10 has become a favorite on the car show circuit, frequently winning various show awards. Even on casual drives, it consistently garners smiles, photos, and waves, fulfilling the owner’s goal of brightening people’s days. “It’s hard to have a bad day if you’re driving the truck,” he says.
Beyond his custom project, Eric maintains a balanced garage, including a practical pickup for plowing and an electric Hyundai Ioniq SUV, showcasing his diverse automotive tastes.
