2025 Audi Q6 E-Tron Debuts As Cadillac Lyriq Rival

Audi has unveiled the new 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron and SQ6 e-tron SUVs, set to rival the Cadillac Lyriq and (as-of-yet unannounced) Cadillac Lyriq-V. The two all-electric utility models are the first production vehicles to ride on Audi’s 800-volt Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, marking the company’s latest next-gen efforts in battery-driven mobility.

Audi states that the U.S.-spec 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron produces 422 horsepower (456 horsepower with launch control active) and sprinting to 60 mph in as little as 5.0 seconds. Meanwhile, the SQ6 e-tron is rated at 483 horsepower (510 horsepower with launch control active), sprinting to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds. Top speed is rated at 130 mph and 143 mph, respectively.

Range-per-charge in the standard Q6 60 e-tron is estimated at more 300 miles based on the EPA test cycle, while range-per-charge in the SQ6 is set to be revealed later this year. Specs for the DC quick charge system include 270 kW HPC at 800 volts, which will bring the battery state of charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in roughly 21 minutes. U.S.-spec models will launch with CCS connectors, with plans to migrate to NACS charging at a later date. Audi will also launch Sportback and rear-wheel-drive variants in the future.

Inside the cabin, the new Q6 e-tron features an Audi MMI panoramic display and MMI passenger display, with OLED technology. The 14.5-inch MMI touch screen is paired with an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit display. The optional front passenger display is 10.9 inches and includes Active Privacy Mode. There’s also an optional Augmented Reality Head-Up Display, and Audi Assistant, an AI-supported self-learning voice assistant.

Deliveries in Europe are expected to ramp up this summer. U.S. sales are expected by the end of the year. The Q6 e-tron will be positioned between the existing Audi Q4 e-tron and Audi Q8 e-tron fully electric crossovers.

  • The Q8 e-tron is Lyriq's rival. The Q6 e-tron is a smaller vehicle than the Optiq...

    Cadillac Lyriq length : 196.7" (4,996mm)
    Audi Q8 e-tron length : 193.5" (4,915mm)
    Cadillac Optiq length : 189.8" (4,822mm)
    Audi Q6 e-tron length : 187.6" (4,765mm)

  • The Q6 is more of a Optiq rival than the Lyriq.
    Wheelbase
    Optiq 116.3”
    Q6 113.9”
    Lyriq 122”

The Q6 is also the sister of the new Macan.

  • I think Benz started it and caddy adopted it and now others are too. The landscape display as opposed to the hideous portrait style displays. Glad to see Audi went with the sane landscape style.

    • Agree. We didn't buy a new 2024 GMC Acadia because of the vertical display. It just doesn't flow well with the dash.

  • The new Q6 is another POS where German engineering is flawed and living on misinformation…!!!
