2 Fast 2 Furious Yenko Chevy Camaro Replica Is Built For Driving Fun: Video

Every generation has its car culture, and the Fast and Furious generation is no different. From Japanese tuners to American muscle, the Fast and Furious series brings together a variety of different passions under a single umbrella, and now, we’re checking out one young enthusiast’s homage to the Yenko Chevy Camaro featured in the second movie.

Once again coming to us from AutotopiaLA, the feature video is about 18 minutes long, and includes walkaround footage, specs, some background, and some action behind the wheel.

This Chevy Camaro belongs to John Klarich, who knew from the off that he wanted to build a 2 Fast 2 Furious tribute car. In pursuit of that goal, Klarich tracked down a “rust-free roller.”

“We just started from a plain sheet, matte black roller, ready to go. The front end was replaced, it just had all-new panels installed, so it was a pretty fresh slate,” Klarich says.

The Chevy Camaro now houses a blueprint 383 stroker crate engine, which includes port-and-polished heads and an upgraded Comp cam. Output is estimated at around 400 horsepower at the rear tires. All of the muscle is harnessed by a T-56 six-speed manual transmission, 4.10 gears, and a Detroit Locker differential. Looking ahead, Klarich says he’ll drop in a 427 V8, which he’s currently building.

Suspension upgrades are mild, and include tubular A-arms, Hotchkis sway bars, and four-wheel disc brakes. The Chevy Camaro rides on 15-inch by 10-inch wheels in the rear, and 15-inch by 8-inch wheels in front, wrapped in 275 tires and 225 tires, respectively. The exterior is painted LeMans Blue, while the interior is stripped out in anticipation of a more complete interior treatment in the future.

All in all, it’s a relatively simple build, but clearly, the owner is extremely passionate about driving it. Check out the build in full, plus the requisite sideways shenanigans, by hitting play on the video below:
