2023 Chevy COPO Camaro Now Available With ZZ632 Cubic-Inch V8

The 2023 Chevy COPO Camaro is available now, offering drag racers a turn-key, purpose-built machine ready to hit the strip with confidence. Among the available powerplant options is the brand-new, fuel-injected, naturally aspirated ZZ632 cubic-inch Big Block V8.

The ZZ632 crate engine was unveiled in October of the 2021 calendar year as the largest and most powerful engine that Chevrolet Performance had ever made, with peak output set at 1,004 horsepower and 876 pound-feet of torque. Now, the ZZ632 is available under the hood of the 2023 Chevy COPO Camaro.

Further engine options include the supercharged 350 cubic-inch V8, which is NHRA rated at 600 horsepower, and the naturally aspirated 427 cubic-inch V8, which is NHRA rated at 470 horsepower. The naturally aspirated ZZ632 cubic-inch Big Block V8 is not NHRA rated. All three engines connect to an ATI Racing Products TH400 three-speed automatic transmission with a Hurst Quarterstick shifter.

Pricing for COPO Camaro units equipped with the ZZ632 Big Block starts at $135,900. Pricing for the 427 starts at $126,420, while pricing for the supercharged 350 starts at $141,225.

Available exterior colors include Black (paint code GBA), Summit White (paint code GAZ), Satin Steel Gray Metallic (paint code G9K), and Red Hot (paint code G7C), all of which are offered at no extra cost. Meanwhile, 2023 COPO Camaro models equipped with the 632 Big Block are also available with an exclusive color and graphics package, which tosses in a Vivid Orange Metallic (paint code GCF) exterior finish, unique striping and accents, new badging, new lighting treatments, and more.

All models include the Racer’s Package, which bundles together a weight box, dual batteries, a carbon fiber intake, and a parachute, while the supercharged engine also includes an intercooler quick-change coupling.

Interested customers can submit their interest at Chevy’s website. Submission does not guarantee a build spot. Build spots that are granted require a $15,000 deposit, unless prohibited by law. The COPO Camaro is only sold through U.S. dealers, and is not street legal. As such, it does not include a title or a VIN.

  • Now this would be a great streetcar and I'm sure CHEVY wouldn't drop it out for some EV crap. I'm sure Ford's glad it's only Drag race ready.

  • MK your believe the media not GM yes they GM are going all ELECTRIC but not 2035 until then ICE will still be developed and sold and who knows this EV stuff just might be a fad. Now if this thing where street legal you can have SRTs and Shelby's their lunch

    • I was in irony, believe me in Brasil GM or aka GMB will stay with combustion engines for ever, and 100%, the bolt will never sell good there

      • Considering GM was using the stovebolt 6 in Brazil as late as 1990, we will have fusion powered cars before GM goes EV down there.

I also predict that nobody will meet their 2030 deadlines, and that to CYA (cover you
@ss) GM will just move the goal posts and when 2035 arrives, assuming they haven’t gone bankrupt and had a total leadership change, will say that their 2035 goal was actually to offer an EV in every category so customers have the option to be carbon neutral. I don’t know a single person who wants an EV. Granted where I live it’s redneck nation, but if less than half the country wants them it’s a loosing proposition.

  • Speed on Brother! As long as the EPA doesn't shut down new cars modified for racing. Sign the RPM act on SEMA website to protect our rights to do what we want with our cars.

  • Now real power we are talking about never mind this electric nonsense that nobody wants unless u are part of the woke generation that doesn’t have a clue about anything !!! Hope gm follows through

  • Glad to see GM apply some Testosorone that it was famous for years ago. Great move. Cars and trucks are a man's business. Just look at 98% of the attendees at a Barrett Jackson auction.

  • love gm idea plan to install this monster of an engine in the camaro nothing will touch this car bring it on !!! Ahh love tvs smell of racing fuel !!!

  • I know it's about the gearing but it's great to see a Turbo 400 behind the engine. Proof that when it comes to handling the torque and abuse for the drags this was the go to automatic for GM. A transmission that was designed in the mid 60's and is still being used. Now bring back the Muncie M22 and I'll be happy!

    • The 400 AT I had back in the day was a 4 speed Auto- I guess they changed the gearing but forgot to change the name. Before the 400, the Power Glide 2 speed was king.
