So I place an order in for a zr2 but it’s been about a month and no changes, “order has not been accepted by gm”. Theres one heading to a different dealership with the same spec I want minus the sunroof, but the dealer wont let me put a deposit on it. They told me its first come first first. My question is can they call GM and grab that zr2 before it gets to the dealer? I have a feeling itll be sold right when its gets to the dealership.

I don’t think they can do that. I ordered my Zr2 the 3rd week in February and it finally was accepted by Gm last week.

The answer is no. It belongs to that Dealer on the build sheet…. And yes you can purchase from that dealer if not already sold..

Surprisingly I got a call from the dealership today, so apprently the hold up is the flexgate. Shortage on parts. So now heres my dilemma, I really like the concept and for the “cool” feature. Is it worth the wait? Itll be another 2 months plus time to built if I wait for the flexgate but they can submit for built if i skip the flexgate! Ugh

speedi2acerx, in my opinion it is simply a personal preference. Depends on how much you want a truck sooner or later. In two months when “maybe” the flex gate becomes available you have no idea what other things will be unavailable or on constraints. I know I had to forgo the High Country package to get the tech package so I went to an LTZ then built it back up since for some crazy idea that package was available on the LTZ. They said sometime in June it might be available for the HC but no guarantees. Turns out that was 3/17 and it went to production 4/25. Built in Ft. Wayne and is now awaiting dispatch.

Update. So I was told from the dealer that the truck had a shipped date of 6/14 which was last month and I’m barely getting the information now. The morning I just got an email confirmation that the truck is “under quality control”? Shouldnt the quality control be done before the “ship date”?!
