Instead of hearing about the trials and tribulations we all have in ordering and or tracking our orders how about this?
If you have received your refreshed 1500 Silverado.
When did your order obtain an allocation from GM?
How long from allocation to production?
How long from production to landing on dealerships lot?

Also perhaps let us know which trim level you bought, LT, LTZ, or HC?

I don’t think we’re gonna see much action on this thread. Since I don’t think anyone has received their truck, or will anytime soon. Mine was supposed to be delivered on April 4th. Then it was marked delayed and no ETA as of now. Started the ordering process on January 7th….

Correct, of the people who post on these forums, you may barely have ten who have actually received their orders. And that’s since production began in February. Two months later and most still haven’t received theirs. I got my vin a month ago, and still nothing. As of this morning, I received the following result from the chevy.com chat,
      *
“Thank you for the details and for waiting. I have located your order and can see that your vehicle is available to ship. This vehicle is pending some final testing and approvals, will be ready for shipment.”

I have seen one refreshed GMC so far on a local lot. Beyond that only LTD’s with mostly four bangers. Apparently GM is trying to unload this engine. I was hoping among the thousands of members here that there would be a few who had received their new trucks. Especially those ordered from very large dealers like Hendrick. Mine was originally scheduled to build the second week of April and now pushed to the last week.

It appears many trucks are currently bayed that were built sometime in March. So I would think by this month they are beginning transit to the dealership and will arrive sometime in May. Expect more posts about truck orders finalizing over the next 30 days. It really is a waiting game at this time, and although there are a “lucky few” who have received their orders, I would guess the bulk of the processed orders are still pending arrival. Mine is currently expected to arrive at the dealer on or about 5/17! You’ll see, though, this wait is almost over…and you’ll hear many “success stories” forthcoming in the next few weeks.

Pearlescent Tricoat High Country 5.3. Placed order 1/25/22. Accepted 2/7/22. Informed 3/28/22 of delivery 4/28/22. Delivered to dealer 4/15/22. Took possession 4/19/22. NO 5.3 DFM, NO rear wheelhouse liners. Dealer cannot retrofit DFM. Dealer has checked parts order for rear wheel house liners with no firm date? Dealer will install when they arrive. Truck has all my other ordered options.
      My opinion, absolute beautiful truck.

Awesome, 2GMs!!! Great to hear you got your truck! Gets me all the more excited as my estimated delivery date nears. I’ve heard a couple of stories where the actual delivery date was ahead by about a week from the originally proposed date. Hopefully that is true of my truck as well. I pre-purchased wheel liners about 2 months ago, just in case it comes without. There are many other things I want for it, but I’m waiting until actual receipt of the truck to start the modifications (muffler, tint, tonneau cover, etc).
Again, though…CONGRATULATIONS! I’m glad for you and overjoyed you find your truck to be a ‘beaut’!!!!

Thanks1nonlymre. I hope I get the rear wheel liners fairly soon. Sounds like you did your homework. I asked if the 5.3 engine could have the Dynamic Fuel Management operation activated later. They told me no. Not sure I want it anyway? Have you heard any thing of this,Thanks!

2GMs, I have heard of some refreshed Silverado truckss having the DFM inactive. I assumed this was something that was going to be activated at a later time due to the chip shortage. Personally, If mine comes deactivated, I’m likely going to leave it that way. As I understand it, the DFM doesn’t add much to the fuel economy of the truck (maybe 1-2 mpg more). And from what opinions I’ve read, the DFM is frowned upon as it seems to regulate the “oomph” of the truck, if you know what I mean. It holds the power back. Currently there are no products to deactivate the refreshed models of the DFM feature, which is what I think I would want anyway. So again, if it comes already deactivate, you won’t hear any complaints from me. Plus, it’s rumored some of the lifter issues could stem from the DFM usage, but that’s just a rumor.
If it comes deactivated with the option to have it activated later, I think I’ll opt for ‘NO!’

1nonlymre,Yup, I’;ve heard the same about the lifter issues and have a friend with a 21 GMC 5.3 that had lifter failures. He’s jealous.I foolishly thought GM would have fix the issues by now. I agree with leaving well enough alone. Thanks for the input Let us know when you get the new truck

I learned today that my truck has TPW this week finally. However here is my question, I was told it was being built in Flint, MI. I was of the belief this plant only produced HD’s. My truck is an LTZ 1500. Did I miss the memo? I am happy as can be I not only have production news but it is being built state side. Anyone here know the answer to my question?

Did the 5.3 have DFM added ? My High Country did not. Just wondering. Still waiting on rear wheel house liners.

2GMs not sure. They don’t have the sticker yet. Build sheet said it does.
