When will GM put 8-speed automatic behind 5.3L?

      Are there any rumors when GM will put the 8-speed transmission behind the 5.3L? I don’t need a 6.2L engine, but would love to have the 8-speed gear ratios. I’ve heard nothing about when this might happen. Thanks!

      How about the 4.3 V6. You can get a Ram V6 with their 8 speed.

      2016 Models is what has been stated in the past.

      I know someone who got a new 8-sp trans and he has had nothing but problems from it. The dealer has had it more than he has.

      from what I’ve read, it seems like the 8 speed is only for GM’s most powerful engines. Everything else will be getting the 10-speed they are codeveloping with Ford. I believe 2016 or 2017my.
