Looks like we’re in for a real treat at Detroit. Chevy will introduce a concept car that’s rear-wheel drive. There is speculation that it will be compact in size, retro in style, and that a name from the past will be resurrected (Chevelle, Chevette, etc.).
What do you think it will be? What do you want it to be?
Under 3000 lbs Wagon, 2 dr, 4dr, evan a hatch. Base with a 185hp na with an option of 260hp turbo. All to be had with a manual trans
You just described the ATS, although the base will have about 200 horses from the new 2.5 ECOTEC.
Most likely be on the same or modified Alpha platform as the ATS, I think it’ll Compete with the new Subayota of Toyobaru 86, or it’s a possibility that it’ll just be a roadster.
@Lex Would be great for GM to have a GT86 competitor. But I don’t know how difficult it would be to achieve the level of balance of the GT86… unless the platform is that flexible and balanced to begin with. From preliminary info about the ATS, it sounds like that is exactly the case. I’d be very, very, very happy for a roadster or a compact sports car.
Looks like @Lex was spot on:

2 seat Roadster and 300hp ……………. Oh hell yes.
