Just curious how long your wait was from the time your 2022 Silverado 2500/3500 was built to the day your received it? Mine was built November 10th and I have yet to receive it. My dealer is 20 Miles from the Flint plant where it is sitting bayed waiting on transport for months. I have been waiting 6 months so far since it was built and I am at 14 Months since I ordered it.

Cheddar I guess I have no place to complain yet because I have not gotten mine yet.
My order accepted 02/09, truck built and Vin given 03/22, went to 4300 produced and released to courier 04/05, Told by my dealer that it would be here May, 4th, Then told May 16th, Now told May 22nd. I have yet to see anyone in this chat area that ordered and got a truck unless they lucked out and found one at a dealer by mistake. My dealer is in Fort Myers and has gotten several 2500s in but zero 3500s. A dealer in Tampa now has (6) 3500s in stock (3 hours away). Those 3500s have higher Vin numbers than my truck but I am not sure that makes a difference in the big scheme of things. I am not sure the secret to getting a truck delivered.
My truck is a Chevy 3500 High Country 4X4 SRW Duramax long bed with the Black/Umber interior and spray in bed liner. I fear that the sub contractors may be to blame as they are the ones that are doing the bedliners and precision vehicle holdings may also be guilty too with bad management of all those dang vehicles sitting in their lot. My last entry on VinView says my truck is at 3435 van slyke rd flint Mi. as of 03/29.
Any idea where vinview says your truck is? -

Ordered my 3500 on March 31
As of today, my weekly chats with Chevrolet.com,
They keep telling me my preliminary order has been accepted and waiting for manufacture date.
How accurate is the Chevrolet.com chat?
I ordered LT with All Star edition, both convenience packages, Z71 sport edition, gooseneck/fifth wheel package, and some other items. My dealer told me give or take 8 weeks. I’m not holding my breath on that one.-
May 6, 2022 at 4:26 am #704843CheddarParticipant
I was originally told 6-8 weeks also 14 months and still waiting. Chevrolet.com chat is hit or miss but I have realized in the months that I have been checking sometimes it is conflicting answers. I have heard everything from It’s in transit just waiting on transport to the next week it is on hold for the Chip. sometimes I think they are just giving responses because they don’t know why the delay is happening.

I ordered my 2500 LT on 12/17. It was built at the Oshawa plant on 2/25. It’s currently on a rail car to Oakland CA. (Went through Reno NV today). Hopefully will only be another week or so, but that will put it at 5 months. LT 4×4, w/ convenience packages. Luckily for me, the dealer has been helpful with information. We have a 6 week trip and I need it to pull my camper. We’re scheduled to leave May 31st.

You may have lucked out with the Oshawa Plant I have heard that they seem to be moving trucks but Flint has been a clustered mess of unknowns. I hope you receive yours before your trip. My first camping trip of the season is coming up also and may need to be yet another cancelled vacation. Most of my trips last summer were cancelled because my truck had not even been built hopefully it is not a repeat summer.

I wouldn’t say anyone is “lucky” since this is such a debacle!! I know a guy that passed by the Oshawa plant earlier this week and they have a yard with no less than 10,000 trucks sitting awaiting whatever. It is all a crapshoot and Cheverolet customer care agents will definately tell you anything to move get you off line. I have been told my truck was in production, then told it was build three weeks ago, then it is half built, and the best story was it was being built in Flint which I know is bs. My truck is a 1500 and Flint doesn’t build them, so agents are full of it. The past two weeks I have received emails and actually got the very same canned answer both times, neither of any value or believable. BTW, I have been at this since 3/17/21, yup over a year now.

Finally someone that has been at this as long as I have, No pun intended but I was beginning to think I was the only one. I ordered mine the first week of March 2021. worst part about it is I live 15 minutes from the Plant and my dealer is 15 minutes from the plant and it has been just sitting waiting for delivery. I will now eventually get a truck that is not so new as it is now 6 months old and counting. Soon it will be considered last years model as they open up the order on the 2023.

I traded my 2018 ram & ordered my 3500 silverado HD 12-12-21 , Built 3-30-22, shipped from OSHWA PLANT to Ontario 5-13-22. Been sitting in Ontario over 2 months waiting for Virginia Transport to load it up and transport……Dealership sent me screen shot when it left plant on 5-13 and told me it was in transit and should take no more than 4 weeks so end of May I started financing to capitalize on the 1.9%, July 15th was my 1st payment……now that it is financed i have to carry insurance, register, losing time on my warranty and free services……im thinking since i “own” it i can hire my own transport company to go pick it up……..anyone in a similiar situation as me? If so advice would be welcomed

I hate you all for giving me this information.
I ordered my 2500 from the dealer in October. They were allocated in January and the truck was built and sent to the intermediate lot on February 23rd. Absolutely NOTHING has happened since then. I’m not going to complain when there are folks waiting 14 months. I guess I’ll complain in December.
7 months since I put a deposit down
4 months since GM accepted the order
2.5 months since it was produced -

Cheddar this will not help you but it is an update on my 3500 Silverado High Country. May 9th I went to the dealer and he used VINVIEW to find my truck again It now shows my truck about 2 hours away in Tampa. The estimated delivery is May 22 but my dealer now says that he fully expects my truck to be here well before that. Go ask your dealer to log you order number and VIN number into VINVIEW. My dealer says that all Chevy dealers have that site. It tracks your truck thru the shippers notes and also can track it with onboard onstar on your truck. I complained at the GM help chat that I never get email updates from them although they ask everytime for my address, name and email. I got this email on May 7th:
Here is the current status for your order:
I have located your order number BJNXXX. Your vehicle is already in the transit and going to TAMPA, FL from FLINT, MI via rail. From this point, your dealer is in the best position to provide estimated delivery time. Our system does not indicate its current location since it is currently moving or a delivery date so your dealership will be in the best position to provide further insight as they are typically notified 48 hours in advance of a delivery pending at their location.
I will send you another update next 5/14/2022.
If you would like to check on your vehicle order status before then, please feel free to chat from http://www.chevrolet.com, or you may contact us directly at the phone number listed below once you visited the website.

Thank you for the update, I have been able to find out mine has been bayed since January 25th with 0 field events full build awaiting transport to the dealer. I did a bunch of calling around and finally got ahold of the transport company that is supposed to be transporting it to the dealer. They found that it appears that somebody forgot to update a status field in the system and it should have been delivered months ago. They are expediting it and should be here this week. That was Tuesday still hopeful but not holding my breath. I was called a month ago and was told it was loaded and would be at the dealer in 24-48 hours. I even got a call from GM asking how I was enjoying my new Chevrolet. We shall see how it goes and if it arrives.

Cheddar that is sounding better for sure. I can’t believe they actually called and asked how you were enjoying the truck. There sure is some communications repair that needs to be done at GM.

Update on my 3500 order,
Dealer told me today that there is a constraint on Z71 sport package through this week at least.
He hopes it’s lifted by next week so my truck can be built.
We shall see…… -

Update #2
Dealer told me today the constraint on Z71 sport package is the 4” step assist bars.-
May 18, 2022 at 5:46 am #706369pmanches54Participant
I find it hard to believe the assist bars is the only thing holding up production. My dealer said there is currently a list of constraints longer than your arm including limited engine choices and tech packages among the many. My dealer said he got 16 allocations this week but took hours to put in orders because he continually ran up against constraints. Some customers chose to make the necessary changes to accommodate others chose to wait.

Picked up my 3500 High Country SRW Duramax 4X4 long bed today. Only thing missing was the front and rear parking sensors and the rear wheel well liners. Beautiful truck with a gigantic owners manual. Order Jan, accepted Feb, built Mar 21st. Worth every second of the wait. I was shocked to find it had heated steering wheel and cooled and heated front seats.

Just adding another example for context, ordered in March, allocated in April, received word the build was completed on May 19th with a status of “Pending Dispatch”. They sent me a screenshot from the dealership side that shows the exact location as the “Shipping Yard Plant Oshawa”. ETA is N/A though, I imagine that won’t get updated until it’s actually been dispatched. My build was pretty simple:
2500 Custom 4×4 standard bed, custom convenience package, dark essentials package, spray in bed liner, 120v outlets, and safety confidence package
Hopefully I get it in the next couple months, but it sounds like folks have been waiting for ages.

Ordered my 3500 CC LB 4WD Silverado LTZ 2/25 told go on line 5/23, then confusing info from dealer, then dealer gave me the VIN 5/27 with a 3400 code. 3800 code is when VIN available according to GM production code list. Dealer will look into clarifying situation next week. Sounds like other versions I’ve read on this site. Hopefully I have a complete truck to then do the shipping dance!!

Ordered: 22′ Silverado HD LT Crew, Longbed gas. Did not receive a VIN suppose to have it this week.
Let me know either one of you got your trucks yet and TOTAL wait time from start to finish.

My Silverado RST Duramax is ready since May 25 and waiting in the shipping yard to be dispatched. No one has more information (neither dealership nor gm chat). Dealership keeps saying the truck can show up at any moment. GM chat keeps saying the truck is waiting for final tests. Almost 4 weeks for a shipment it’s frustrating.

So sorry to hear of all the issues going on for deliveries. I ordered my 2022 Silverado 3500 HD High Country in July 2021. I was told the anticipated delivery would be 6 weeks from order date (a GMC dealer told me 12 weeks). Had to stay on top of salesman to insure allocation from dealer was accepted by GM. There was a two week shut-down at the Flint plant due to chip shortage. Long story short, truck was built in September, shipping was delayed until October 6 and arrived in Phoenix 10 days later. Had another 8 day delay getting from train to dealer. Ended up taking 15 weeks from order to delivery. I hope your trucks arrive soon.

My 3500 HD silverado was built 3-30-22. Shipped from Oshwa plant to shipping yard 5-13-22………sitting there since then. Crappy part is dealership told me it was in transit 5-13-22 and would only take up to 4 weeks so I started financing the end of May to capitalize on the 1.9%……..1st payment was July 15th, well beyond the 4 weeks i was told. So….not only am i paying for the truck, i am paying insurance on it, i am losing time on my warranty, I am losing a whole camping season. Last thing im going to try is since i own it hire my own transport company

That last post was the first I’ve been able to submit! Here’s my story: Ordered a 2500 duramax LT April 1. 12 weeks later it was still at 1100. I finally talked to the Dealers owners brother (sales manager) a week and a few days prior to the earliest timeline for delivery (3-4) months. He finally says “I get my allocations Thursday and I’m gonna do everything I can to get you a truck ordered”! 😳😱🤷♂️ I would add, he thanked me twice for not hollering at him. Long story short, he put in my truck as if to order it that day and said the color was on constraint and the running boards on the duramax appearance package were also. This was a small town dealer and I was gettin it for supplier pricing. The next day (Friday) I was blessed to talk to (for the second time) the sales manager for the largest Chevy dealer in the state and he had been allocated 2 on Thursday. One was sold and he was fixing to order one for the lot. He ordered me one close to the one I had ordered (same color and duramax appearance package the other dealer said was on constraint). In short, he ordered it on Friday June 24. One week later it was at 3000 with a TPW of July 25. I’m crossing my fingers it gets made this week and then comes the next adventure, getting it from Flint MI. to the dealer.🤞

I purchased a 2022 Chev Silverado 3500HD duramax and it was built by the middle of May. I paid for it at that time as I was told about 4 weeks from build completion until delivery. Well still waiting, just got a notice the 3 month free sirius radio is about to expire, hahaha. Dealer keeps telling me weekly still awaiting dispatch. Had the plates for it since the first of June and had to get the dealer to write me a letter I could give my credit union since I borrowed about 20k for it so they would waive the insurance requirement until I take possession of it. I sold my other tow vehicle and had plans for the summer with a family trip in Sept that I may be cancelling if it doesn’t show up in the next month. I’m a little shocked a company the size of GM can’t come up with a solution to get these completed trucks delivered. Best of luck everyone.

Is anyone else amazed at how many buyers agree to pay for a truck that is not even on the dealer lot nor do they know when it will eventually arrive? Not only buy it but many trade their truck in, finance the new one, insure and license it!! The way the deliveries have been the past two years this is unbelievable. What happens if your truck sets in a yard for months and the 23’s start arriving? You own a year old truck you have never seen or driven but depreciation moves on along with your warranty and free OnStar and Sat radio which I know is minor to the other issues. I was told once the supply chain catches up all these trucks that have been setting in fields will be delivered to dealers to move. Rebates will happen to move the 21’s and 22’s. You are financially obligating yourself to a truck you don’t have to drive and no longer have your previous vehicle. What if something happens to that truck you don’t have in your control for weeks and more likely months?? Since you now own it and it comes in damaged or worse yet is stolen try explaining that to your insurance company or finance company. More over I can’t believe there are dealers out there putting their customers in this situation. I guess customers are desperate and dealers are money hungry grubs.
Tell me if I am wrong on my thoughts. What are your thoughts? -
July 27, 2022 at 8:33 am #716802jmw2191Participant
I guess they might do it to get whatever incentives there may be at the time. Or hope it will make their truck get there faster. I’m finding out it is all about the dealer. Those putting a “market adjustment” on vehicles are being put on my never buy from list! Like you said, I believe it will get back to the way it was one day, but not for another couple years! They’ll always be those mega dealers who want to sell 1000-1500 units a month who will sell at invoice and get
The holdback money. -
