ParticipantDoes anyone know the current wait times when ordering a 2023 Chevy Traverse LT Leather? Have heard conflicting reports, some say 4 – 6 months , some say Lansing has cars sitting for weeks after they are built that never get shipped out. Dealers are saying about 3 – 4 months. Our lease is up on our current vehicle the end of September. We ordered the beginning of June, Just looking to get a general idea how long to expect. How long to go into production from order date, how long to get delivered after production…any ideas what to expect?

ParticipantThe bottom line is no one knows. You will talk to many different people, from the dealership to Chevrolet agents and will get different answers nearly every time you do. But it appears to be on average 3 – 6 months for most people. When I finally got my vehicle, which took 4 months, just two days prior I was told approximately 3 more weeks then poof two days later my dealership called to tell me it was in. Soo best advice, don’t expect it soon and one days Santa will drop it off.

ParticipantWe were originally told 4 – 6 months when we ordered our traverse the beginning of June. Our dealership that we ordered through said they are seeing the traverse orders come in at about 3 – 3 1/2 months. Now today, as were out driving, we passed a dealership that had 3 new traverses on their lot, so we stopped. All sold, waiting for customer pick up. We did talk to a salesman briefly and he said traverse orders are running 6 – 8 months now, and could be longer due to production problems and chip shortages. I don’t know what to believe now. I know we only ordered a couple months ago, so we still have time, but our lease is up on our current vehicle the end of October. Has anyone ordered a Traverse in the spring or early summer that has a build date or estmated delivery date yet? Or better yet have received their ordered Traverse? We are just worried about this newest info we heard today of 6 – 8 months or longer..

ParticipantWe ordered a Premier in early June. It was built in early in July and shipped. We have a VIN and financing in place, but the dealer has told it’s in route, delivered to the town 20 minutes from the dealership over the weekend. We were expected to pick it up today, but no one can tell us why it hasnt been moved to the dealership. I’m concerned because they have a check from the the finance co and we had it insured effective today. Hopefully we’ll have some more answers tomorrow. I’ll post an update when we pick up. If we do take ownership this week, our order was about 9 weeks. We ordered one of the standard colors, AWD with no additional packages.

ParticipantAn update to our 2023 Premier order. To date, we have not received it. After multiple phone calls, we were told there’s a quality issue with the vehicle. It’s not clear if its our vehicle or all Traverse vehnicles. Chevy has put a “quality hold” on it and will not release it to dealership. The dealership did not know what type of quality issue or have an updated delivery date.

ParticipantWe finally received an update today on the Quality Hold. Its related to the hood liner. This is so hard to believe they’re holding up the car due to this reason. No ETA for delivery yet. There are 12 Traverses sitting at the rail yard related to this quality hold.

ParticipantGreat news. Our Traverse is ready for pickup. Salesperson sent us pics of our vehicle and it appears that multiple 2023 Traverses are sitting on the lot now. Hopefully everyone will get their vehicles soon.

ParticipantAfter 2 months our order status is still 1100 Preliminary. Long talk with sales person today. Apparently they can not submit orders for Traverse right now. We are also under the impression that Premiers are quicker to get so we are changing to a Premier. They will let us know once they get the approvalsl to order again.

ParticipantCB JUNO, I am sorry, I can not believe there are so many issues with these vehicle orders right now. We are a Ford and GM family, We almost went with a Ford Explorer, but finally decided we would be happier with the Traverse. I am really getting worried and our dealer says they have no idea when they will be able to submit our order. Would be interesting to know what the “quality issues” are and if it is just Premiers or all Traverses in production right now. I do hope they get the issues resolved and you get your Premier soon. Keep us informed.

ParticipantWe placed our order end of April for 2023 redline edition traverse. I don’t think our order was submitted until June though when they opened order books for them. But we just got news our order has been accepted last week. Dealer said they were surprised because they aren’t making 2023 redline editions?! I’m so confused lol. Redlines are on Chevrolets website so i don’t get it. Another thing is our dealer will not give us our order number! I’ve been asking and asking and it seems like the dealer doesn’t know crap can’t even get us the number when clearly there is a number! Chevrolet said there’s always an order number if GM hasn’t accepted the order. Doesn’t make any sense. My Cruze just broke down this morning and baby on the way. All of our family works for GM but I’ve about lost my patience with them.

ParticipantWe ordered our traverse, supposed to be a 2022 but got switched to a 2023 on May 13th. Found out it was produced on 7/25/2022 last Wednesday found out it was supposedly in transit our dealership is 2 hours away from the Lansing plant. Today messaged Chevrolet message app and they said it was in transit from Charlotte, MI (20 minutes south of Lansing) to Lansing, MI mind you it needs to go South to NW Ohio. Got a number from the chat customer service called it and they said it could be it needed something even though for the past 4 weeks no constraints have showed up or she said it could be it’s going back up to Lansing to pick up other cars. Either way it shouldn’t take 2 weeks to go 2 hours South to deliver it. Mind you a friend of ours ordered their 2023 on May 9th 4 days before us and got their traverse July 8th. Same dealership. I’m so frustrated we are on 15 weeks of waiting.

ParticipantWe ordered the LS model thinking with less bells and whistle’s we would get ours within the 15 weeks my sister got her Tahoe that came by rail from Texas. The only add on we got was remote start but that’ll be installed by our dealership.

ParticipantMy dad has worked at the Defiance, Oh Powertrain plant for 58 years as of October and I like supporting a product my dad has poured his blood sweat and tears into, but like you I’m over this process. I mean we have a trade in value our dealership gave us and we’re under the mileage like they said to be, but we’re 3 months from when we ordered our traverse and when they gave us that estimate, plus we can no longer get the $1,000 cash allowance and interest rates have gone up twice. I think the worst part is there is no way to make a complaint like they know their ordering and transport process is flawed, but don’t want to hear it or fix it. I mean we’re on week 15 of waiting when a couple we know ordered 4 days before us same dealership and received their traverse on July 8th. It’s really frustrating.

ParticipantThe order for my 2023 Traverse LT was accepted by GM 6/07/22 and built on 8/05/2022. The dealer told me yesterday it is one of those sitting and waiting for this hood liner (officially called a Hood Insulator) repair. Was told there is no ETA provided by GM. It’s more than frustrating but I felt better after I lowered my expectation of getting it delivered, from anytime soon, to the next ice age.

ParticipantMy dealer finally got the invoice for our traverse and my salesman said it’s usually one to two weeks after he gets the invoice that the vehicle gets delivered… fingers crossed.
