ParticipantI have a 2013 SS Camaro that was purchased in November of 2013 and last week my engine started nocking so bad on the freeway I had to have it towed. no big deal right? my car only has 48k miles and is still covered under the factory 5 year 50k. well when I called the dealership and gave them the VIN I was told it started on the delivery date which was 11/2012 WTF!!!! then proceeded to tell me since I have low miles Chevrolet might help on a percentage of the repairs but I need to bring it to them. unfortunately I am not in a financial situation to risk them pulling it apart and pay their labor fees to tell me they wont cover crap!!! I am so pissed, my family owns a automotive shop and I know how to keep my vehicle up. change oil every 3k with synthetic, air filters are always clean, only use premium fuel, and I don’t drive the car hard to have a lifter fail and cause nearly a thousand dollars in parts that needed to be replaced!!!!!!!

ParticipantEven thou the car is over the 5 year warranty, I believe it is in your best interest to return to the dealership. They need to confirm internal mechanical failure (not complete engine teardown) . you can also talk to GM customer service, Even if you need to authorize $200? Diagnoses. Get the car to the dealer ASAP, If you can get reduced repair cost it WILL be less if you wait ! Don’t do anything to the car before dealership service can diagnose the car!

Participantthe car is still under 5 years old from the time it was purchased and has less than 50k miles. the repairs are complete and I am going to blast this if Chevrolet doesn’t do something about it. I can reach personally almost 10k people on social media and then from there it could easily get into the 100k range. its up to them to make this right.

Keymaster@rmfilkins Have you tried calling Chevrolet customer service directly?
I’m not talking about your dealer, but the corporate line at 1 (800) 222-1020.
I always recommend giving them an opportunity to fix it, and save the threats until necessary…
