ParticipantI paid a deposit and submitted a build order on a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD on July 13, 2021, and I am still waiting for order to be accepted. It has now been 12 weeks waiting for order acceptance.

ParticipantI have an order # and a scheduled production week, which was 9.27.21 My dealer doesn’t have any kind of status update as of 3 days ago. How much longer do I have to wait for my 2022 2500hd AT4? My anxiety level is thru the roof.

ParticipantI submitted a build order for a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500HD Denali on July 30 and was notified the beginning of September that my projected production week is October 18. He again contacted me on October 1 and verified that the production date remains the same!

ParticipantDepends on what part of the country you are in, farther you are from Flint, the longer it may take. I know someone who lives in the Flint Mich area and he says the vacant lots around there are full of new trucks waiting on transportation. Due current supply chain disruptions freight carriers are experiencing delays nationwide and that includes rail cars that are used to transport vehicles.

ParticipantI ordered a 2021 2500HD on May 7, 2021. It got built as a 2022 during the last week of July and the dealer said there were “no restrictions.” So, I thought…sweet…a couple weeks and should have a new truck in early September. NOPE!
Got word at the end of August that it is “Missing Parts.” Now end of October and no new information on what is missing. Geez. Come on GMC share just a weee bit of information to us!! And, why start building new 2022 trucks again this week when they have an inventory of 21 and 22s to get to customers.
Any idea how much longer I have to wait?

ParticipantI have been waiting since mid August, placed my order, and can not get a real answer from my dealer. There telling me there still waiting for GM to accept my offer. Its because I ordered a double cab , and at this time there only building crew cabs. I may not here anything till spring. and it may not have all the options i ordered with my trailer package.
So ya , do I just go to a different dealer. ?? Can my order be transferred to a different dealer.? or do i just start all over, or just wait it out.? -

ParticipantFrom my dealer yesterday.
“We just received an update that all “build-shy” HD’s will not be completed until first quarter of next year. There is still a chance that we could see your truck sooner, but that’s the latest.”
I think it is in a field…at the back and can’t get moved. I can track a package on Amazon every step of the way and GM can’t even tell me +/- a couple MONTHS when I might see my truck.
Unbelievable.

ParticipantI paid a deposit on a new truck that’s built and setting in Wentzville assembly ready for transport. I have the VIN but no build number. Is there any way to track transport or status update with a VIN? 3GTP9CEK9MG403783

ParticipantNo there is not. Its normal to take up to 4 wks from build to arriving at dealer but these are not normal times so you have to wait until the dealer calls you.
Per the VIN you vehicle was built in Mexico (3 as 1st digit of vin id’s country of origin) so you must be in the range of that ramp for the trucks to deliver. Just have to wait your turn…

Participant3+ weeks to accept order placed on 25 Oct but was notified yesterday that the spray in bed liner (CGN), Z71 floor liners (AAK), and rear wheelhouse liners (S41) were not available. I approved the change, now waiting on a production/build date. This is a 3500 HD LT SRW CC LB 4wd

ParticipantIn reality the dealer is only guessing. The allocation number will tell GMC dealers exactly how many trucks/suvs GM will build for them over next few months. Unfortunately, this does not constrain the dealership from pre-selling more than the earned allocation, as GM does not manage this process in any way. In other words, a dealer (knowing they only have two Denali’s arriving within the next six months) can pre-sell 20 and simply tell the customer that the order has been put in. For the 18 customers who are at the bottom of the list, they are at the mercy of whatever story the dealer tells them regarding the production of the vehicle. Dealers are under no obligation to disclose how many of their earned allocations are spoken for when making pre-order sales. As such, many dealers don’t disclose this information to the customer because if they did, you would probably walk right out the door.

ParticipantI ordered a 2022 at4 2500hd on September 11th. Today marks 6 months, 1 week and 2 days. I have yet to receive a confirmation that gmc has accepted my order.
At the time of order I was unaware of how backed up these builds actually were. The salesman told me that he was 95% sure that my truck would be here by the end of the year. (I intended to use this vehicle as a business write off for 2021) The guy straight up lied to make a sale. I have since realized that there was absolutely no way in hell a truck could have been built and delivered in that amount of time.
I have called my salesman a dozen or so times trying to get any kind of updates. The voicemails I leave are answered by text and not for a day or 2 later.
Obviously very frustrated at this point.
Has anyone else waited over 6 months for their build to be accepted? -

ParticipantIt’s beyond frustrating they build 1,000 trucks a day and can’t build a custom trail boss with nothing on it and run people who ordered over a month after me and they have their trucks and I get it’s accepted and that’s it. 4 months now I’d really like to know what’s going on.hope you get yours soon
